How to Acquire Drywood Logs in Hytale

Locating Drywood

To obtain Drywood Logs in Hytale, players will need a Hatchet to chop down two specific types of trees: Dry trees and Bottletrees. Both of these species thrive in the Golden Steppes biome of the Howling Sands, which is designated as Zone 2 and represents the desert region within the game. Chopping down either tree will provide the necessary resources to upgrade the Farmer’s Workbench.

Understanding Dry Logs

Dry trees are characterized by their distinctive patterned brown bark and light yellow leaves. These trees are relatively slender, featuring branches that are a single block wide and trunks that lack significant girth. It’s common to see light green vines on their trunks, which must be removed to expose the bark and facilitate logging.

Aside from Dry trees, the desert’s ecosystem includes Gumbaob trees, which produce Lightwood logs. Gumbaob trees can be identified by their impressive thickness, with trunks measuring between 10 to 15 blocks wide.

Exploring Bottletree Logs

Bottletrees are easily recognized by their light gray bark adorned with black patterns and bright green leaves. Structurally similar to Dry trees, Bottletrees also possess thin trunks and minimal branching. However, some varieties are notably stunted, reaching heights of just 4 to 8 blocks.

Currently, Bottletrees have a known issue where chopping them yields Birch Logs instead of the expected Bottletree Logs. This bug has been reported and is anticipated to be rectified in forthcoming updates. As it stands, the only method to acquire genuine Bottletree Logs is through creative mode.
