Future of the Forza Franchise: Updates and Support Assured

Last month marked a significant turning point for Turn 10 Studios, as reports emerged suggesting the Microsoft-owned developer would transition into a support role for the Forza franchise following another wave of layoffs. This news left many fans questioning the future of beloved titles such as Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon 5, specifically regarding ongoing support and updates.

Official Statement from the Forza Team

In response to rising concerns within the community, the Forza Motorsport account recently provided an update via X. The message read:

Dear Forza Community, we know many of you have questions about what’s next for the Forza franchise, and we appreciate the support of our incredible community. We wanted to assure players that Turn 10 and Playground Games will continue to support Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon 5.

Forza Horizon 5: A Commercial Success

While there were many uncertainties regarding the future of Forza Motorsport, confidence in Forza Horizon 5 remains robust. Released almost two years ago, this open-world racing game has not only received critical acclaim but also achieved remarkable commercial success. Recently, it was launched on the Sony PlayStation 5, maintaining its popularity and even topping sales charts in that ecosystem. Given this strong performance, speculation about an upcoming Forza Horizon 6 is prevalent, with hints suggesting that its release might not be far off.

Forza Motorsport: A Diminished Vision?

Conversely, the outlook for a new Forza Motorsport release appears more uncertain, especially if Turn 10 has indeed been relegated to a support role. Nevertheless, the 2023 installment has recently celebrated the reintroduction of its Track Toys Tour, which has now become a permanent fixture in the game, offering players the opportunity to earn the exclusive 2019 Porsche #70 Porsche Motorsport 935. This tour signifies the second Featured Tour to be reactivated in the Career mode, allowing players to engage with all four of its series and Reward Showcase at their convenience.

Upcoming Content and Engagement Schedule

As part of their commitment to ongoing support, Turn 10 has announced a plan to introduce a new Tour at the beginning of each month. The next installment, the Ringer Tour, is slated for release on September 4. This structured approach ensures that all Tours will eventually be available again, keeping the community engaged and eager for more content.

For anyone following the Forza franchise, these developments are crucial in gauging the future trajectory of one of the most beloved racing game series. To stay updated, check the announcements from the official sources.
