
Forza Horizon 5 Sets Launch Date for PlayStation 5
Playground Games has officially announced that the highly acclaimed racing game, Forza Horizon 5, is set to launch on the PlayStation 5 on April 29. Players who opt for the Premium Edition will have the opportunity to experience the thrill of driving through the scenic landscapes of Mexico starting from April 25.
Technical Enhancements for PS5 and PS5 Pro
This version of Forza Horizon 5 introduces two distinct rendering modes tailored for the PlayStation 5:
- Performance Mode: 60 frames per second (fps)
- Quality Mode: 30 fps with enhanced graphical details
Furthermore, the PS5 Pro version offers added visual fidelity in Performance mode and boasts ray-traced reflections for vehicles in races and free roam while in Quality mode.
Horizon Realms Update
The launch on PlayStation 5 aligns with the rollout of a significant update titled Horizon Realms, which will be available across all platforms. This update promises to deepen player engagement by allowing them to explore twelve immersive Evolving World locations, including both popular limited-time settings and a brand new Stadium Track.

Game Modes for Horizon Realms
Playground has introduced two engaging modes for experiencing Horizon Realms:
Skill Mode
In this mode, players select one of the Evolving Worlds and aim to achieve high Skill Scores. Each location will feature its own leaderboard, along with a cumulative leaderboard showcasing total Skill Scores from all realms. Hitting specific score milestones will also reward players with unique badges.
Free Mode
This mode shifts the focus from competition to enjoyment, allowing players to explore their favorite realms solo or with friends. Players can earn badges from previous updates and complete accolades to gather #Forzathon points.
Exciting Times Ahead
Additionally, April might prove to be a notable month for PS5 owners, as Tom Warren of The Verge has suggested that MachineGames plans to release the PS5 version of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle in the same month, although this date is subject to change.
