Forza Horizon 5 Unveils “Holiday Mix-up”Update Amid Festive Season
Although Playground Games opted out of its regular monthly update stream during the holiday season, gamers need not worry about missing out on new content. The Forza Horizon 5 “Holiday Mix-up” update has officially launched on Xbox consoles and PCs, offering an array of exciting new features, including vehicles, festive decorations, and gameplay improvements.
Exciting New Vehicles to Unlock
Car enthusiasts will be thrilled to discover the addition of several new vehicles. The star of the show is the 2024 Nissan Z Nismo, which players can earn by participating in a seasonal championship commencing on December 4. While the standard Nissan Z is a favorite, the Nismo variant boasts enhanced power, more aggressive styling, and superior handling.
Additionally, players can unlock the 1065 Deberti Chevrolet C10 “Slayer” by accumulating 20 points during the initial week of the update. For those who appreciate luxury, the 2021 Bentley Flying Spur, equipped with a powerful W12 engine, is also up for grabs with the same points requirement.

As players dive into the update, they can look forward to more cars rolling out in the following weeks:
- In Week 2, earn the 2006 Mercedes-Benz E55 Wagon—another powerful vehicle, requiring 20 points.
- In Week 3, unlock the stunning 2022 BMW M5 CS, recognized as the most powerful M-car ever produced, also by earning 20 points.
- Finally, in Week 4, get your hands on the 2014 Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon by again earning 20 points.
Festive Stadium Variants for Competitive Play
To celebrate the holiday spirit, developers have created two festive stadium environments:
- Weeks 1 and 3: Explore the Winter Wonderland Stadium, adorned with snow, pine trees, and cheerful snowmen.
- Weeks 2 and 4: Enjoy the Ice Rink, featuring hockey elements like pucks and goals.
After the holiday season, gamers can expect the stadiums to transform into a stunt park equipped with ramps, half-pipes, and destructible terrain for added excitement.

The update also addresses numerous bugs and gameplay issues, providing players with a smoother experience. Notable fixes include:
- Resolution of the backfire display issue on the 1970 GMC Jimmy.
- Improved visibility in the 2022 Cadillac CT5V Blackwing by correcting the obstructing roll cage.
- Enhanced graphics for the 2021 Lamborghini Sian Roadster’s rear wing logo.
- Proper placement of the 2022 Gordon Murray T.50 in the “European Hypercar” category.
- Fixed discrepancies in the “Unbeatable Street Racing” Accolade’s description and in-game performance.
- Resolved the unlocking issue with the “On The Naughty List” Accolade when photographing the 1997 Lamborghini Diablo SV.
- Corrections made to the badge and silhouette display for the 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

Excitingly, the next update titled “Midnight Muscle” is on the horizon. Expected to introduce new reward vehicles, this update will also bring significant changes, such as the much-anticipated return of the extended night cycle and the new option to customize the start screen.
