After a notable silence regarding its upcoming PlayStation releases, Microsoft has finally unveiled plans for its next port: Forza Horizon 5. This exciting announcement marks the debut of the beloved racing franchise on the rival Sony platform, following the initial wave of Xbox titles that launched earlier in 2024.

In a statement shared on the official Forza blog, the team expressed their enthusiasm as they prepare to welcome PlayStation 5 players to the vibrant world of Forza Horizon: “With nearly 900 cars available, over 40 thematic game updates, and two expansive DLCs, players will soon have the opportunity to race through the stunning landscapes of Mexico and participate in the Horizon Festival.”This spring, fans can look forward to exploring the exciting content that awaits on PS5.

Development and Porting Details

Interestingly, the porting process will not be handled directly by Playground Games, the creators of the Xbox and PC versions. Instead, Panic Button, a specialized porting studio, will be responsible for adapting the game for PlayStation 5, with support from Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games to ensure a seamless transition.

Content Availability and Community Growth

Players can expect all previously released content to launch alongside the game, including car packs and the beloved Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure expansions, both of which are additional purchases.
