Fortnite Lawless kicks off Chapter 6 Season 2 with an electrifying upgrade, featuring expansive urban environments, exciting vaults to raid, and unprecedented gameplay features. This season embraces a thrilling heist theme, empowering players with tools like Thermites to breach enemy defenses while engaging foes from a distance using the new Collateral Damage Assault Rifle.
This season’s loot pool introduces a diverse mix of new elements, as well as various vaults and items that refresh the overall game experience. While many players will favor ranged weaponry such as Assault Rifles, melee enthusiasts are not left out, thanks to the formidable Kneecapper. Below, we outline how to secure The Kneecapper in Fortnite.
Acquiring The Kneecapper

The Kneecapper is classified as an Epic rarity weapon and can be discovered randomly across Fortnite Island. Players can acquire it by looting various containers, including Chests and Rare Chests, although the drop rate remains inconsistent. Additionally, it may appear as standard floor loot, offering players multiple opportunities to claim it throughout their gameplay.

Alternatively, players can find The Kneecapper by looting Heist Bags, which are positioned randomly at various named points of interest (POIs) on the map. Heist Bags operate similarly to regular Chests but offer a different assortment of heist-themed weapons, with The Kneecapper among the possible rewards.
Utilizing The Kneecapper

The Kneecapper serves as both a melee weapon and a mobility tool, granting players a passive speed boost while wielding it, as well as reducing stamina expenditure. This can be critical during skirmishes, allowing gamers to swiftly engage or retreat as the situation demands. Notably, The Kneecapper also negates fall damage when in use.
This melee weapon features two main attack modes, each offering unique advantages:
- Basic Attack (Shoot Button): Delivers a series of swings, inflicting 30 damage for the initial hit, ultimately escalating to a total of 55 damage with the final strike.
- Charged Smash (Aim Button): Executes a powerful strike that deals 60 damage per hit and can push opponents back, potentially leading to eliminations via fall damage. This attack has a brief cooldown period after being executed.
Despite its power, The Kneecapper has limited durability. Each use replenishes its durability, and once it reaches zero, the weapon will shatter.
