Former WWE star backs Brock Lesnar to beat UFC Hall of Famer in a real fight (Exclusive)
Despite not being mentioned frequently in WWE, Brock Lesnar’s accomplishments in the world of combat sports simply cannot be overlooked.
During the early days of the UFC, Dan Severn emerged as one of the organization’s most well-known figures. With a background in amateur wrestling, Severn was a dominant force in the MMA world and helped pave the way for the sport. He also achieved success in professional wrestling, earning a spot in the Hall of Fame and winning the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship. Severn even made appearances in the WWE.
Similar to Dan Severn, Brock Lesnar is part of a rare group of individuals who have excelled in both MMA and professional wrestling. Lesnar was able to claim the UFC Heavyweight Championship and could have potentially achieved even greater success as a legitimate fighter if not for a medical condition.
Additionally, Vince Russo concurred with Carter’s remark and shared the belief that Brock Lesnar held the advantage over Severn.
“Yeah, I think Brock, too,”said the former WWE writer. [From 2:19 onwards]
Despite his impressive MMA career, Dan Severn’s record of 119 wins remains unmatched. In recognition of his accomplishments, he was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2005.
Brock Lesnar labeled a “freak”by EC3
Upon comparing accolades, it may appear that Dan Severn is a more accomplished fighter. As a UFC Hall of Famer, he possessed a wrestling background, but he dedicated himself to perfecting a variety of martial arts and was widely recognized as one of the most formidable competitors in the sport.
Despite having a comparable reputation, Lesnar also climbed to the pinnacle of the UFC and defeated several notable opponents throughout his time with the organization. While on paper the outcome of Lesnar vs. Severn could go either way, EC3 ultimately chose to support his former WWE colleague due to the latter’s unparalleled physical abilities.
“If they are training for each other specifically, but like, I mean, Severn was educated in so many different forms [martial arts]. But, like, naa, Brock’s a freak!”[From 02:15 to 02:33]
Despite being expected to participate in a significant match at WrestleMania, Brock’s current status with WWE is uncertain as he has not been seen on TV since being mentioned in Janel Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon.
