Former WWE employee highlights “huge mistake” with WWE’s booking of Cody Rhodes on RAW (Exclusive)

Former WWE head writer Vince Russo believed that the company should have made some effort to notify the audience of Cody Rhodes’ appearance on RAW this week.

Despite being absent from last week’s show due to a brutal beatdown from the Rock, Cody surprised fans by making an unexpected appearance during the main event. He came to the aid of Seth Rollins and Jey Uso, but unfortunately, their plan backfired as The Final Boss and Roman Reigns relentlessly attacked them with a weightlifting belt.

During this week’s Legion of RAW, Russo expressed his belief that the production team should have included footage of Cody Rhodes arriving at the venue. He argued that when WWE announced their top babyface was unable to compete due to medical reasons, many fans were anticipating his appearance at the show.

“Another huge mistake, bro. Cody is not here. Cody has not been cleared. My God, bro. Show the guy showing up. Show him showing up to the arena. Because, again, you’re telling me he’s not cleared to wrestle. He’s not here. You’ve got a portion of the audience that’s going to believe that, and they’re not going to be there when he comes out. Have him show up at the top of the second hour bro.”[From 7:18 onwards]

Despite the fact that Cody had already endured a brutal attack by The Bloodline members the previous week, he was once again subjected to their violent actions. This repeated assault could have a negative effect on his readiness for WrestleMania weekend.
