Former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin Claims Death Threats and Stalking During HYBE Dispute
On October 29, 2024, Herald POP News revealed that Min Hee-jin reported being stalked and has allegedly received threats to her life. The ex-CEO of ADOR made a special appearance on the live episode of Kim Young-dae’s School of Music to discuss her ongoing conflict with HYBE.
During her appearance, she recounted an unsettling experience when a taxi driver informed her that she was being followed by another vehicle. Min Hee-jin described how she attempted to alter her route, yet the car continued to trail her.
“Not too long ago, I was being followed, and the taxi driver pointed it out to me. This particular car mirrored my route exactly, so I took a detour where it shouldn’t have been able to follow. It remained on my tail and even traced my path from near my home. I decided not to reveal my destination and asked to be dropped off at a different place.”
She further shared:
“The driver identified the make of the vehicle that was stalking me. I chased after it and even confronted them directly, saying, ‘You!’ I reported the incident to the authorities right away, and they apprehended the individual. I’ve also received death threats, but I don’t believe I’m meant to die.”
Min Hee-jin reveals that BTS’ Taehyung has been in touch from military service
According to Herald POP News, during the live broadcast on Kim Young-dae’s School of Music on October 29, Min Hee-jin disclosed that Kim Taehyung of BTS, also known as V, reached out to her to check on her well-being. She mentioned that the musician had also sent her a text on her birthday.
“V sometimes calls me from the military. His energy is so uplifting. Even amidst all this, he contacted me with such a cheerful tone, asking, ‘Are you doing okay?’ He mentioned that he could sense when I would reach out. I felt grateful for his concern. He texted me at dawn on my birthday while serving in the military, and I found him to be such a thoughtful young man. It really touched my heart.”
It’s noteworthy to mention that Min Hee-jin’s birthday is on December 16, while Taehyung enlisted in the military on December 11, 2023. According to military regulations, recruits are generally not allowed to use personal phones during their rigorous initial training before any assignments.
However, as reported by The Korea Times in June 2023, Korea’s military manpower agency experimented with allowing recruits to use phones for an hour on weekends and holidays from July to December.
For context, Taehyung collaborated closely with Min Hee-jin while developing his debut solo album, Layover. The former ADOR CEO played a pivotal role as the executive producer, overseeing the album’s concept and promotional strategies.
In an August 2023 report by NME, it was noted that Min Hee-jin mentioned that Taehyung’s solo debut album incorporated many of her personal artistic preferences in terms of style, music, and presentation. Layover was officially launched on September 8, 2023.
In related news, on October 29, Sports Chosun reported that Min Hee-jin’s request for an injunction was dismissed by the 50th Civil Agreement Division of the Seoul Central District Court. Previously, she had sought an injunction to regain her position as CEO of ADOR after her removal on August 27, 2024.
The court ruled that her plea lacked legal grounds and thus denied her request for reinstatement.
