“Forgot that’s what the Battle Pass used to look like”: Fortnite community reminisces about the days of Chapter 3

Fortnite has gained a reputation for not only its ever-changing gameplay, but also the numerous UI (User interface) updates it has undergone throughout the years. While some of these modifications have been well-received by the community, others have not been as popular. Nevertheless, a group of players have recently shared their nostalgia and sentiments towards the earlier days of Chapter 3 and the significant visual differences that were present in the game at that time.

The aforementioned feelings were particularly evident in a recent Reddit post by u/No_Sign_8122, in which the player shared an old screenshot of the Lt. John Llama page from the Chapter 3 Season 1 Battle Pass and expressed their longing for Chapter 3. This garnered a multitude of responses from the Fortnite community, with u/hexenzirkel exclaiming:

The thoughts on the Chapter 3 map were reiterated by Reddit user u/Medium-Boysenberry64, who shared that it seamlessly combined the elements of the original Chapter 1 map with the game’s more contemporary designs. Furthermore, u/UnaccreditedSetup noted that Epic Games seemed to have put more effort into the map starting with Chapter 4.

Reddit user u/Few-Illustrator-5333 commented on how the Chapter 3 map stood out in their memory, as they were able to recall even the smallest details of it.

“I know basically everything about it [Chapter 3 map], even able to pinpoint locations on the FN geo-guesser.”

Despite the varying opinions within the community, there were still numerous praises for Chapter 3. In fact, u/Goodra21 from Reddit even declared it as the best map out of all the chapters. Additionally, u/MiningJack777 shared their enjoyable experience with Chapter 3 Season 3, mentioning the only downside being its length. It was also the first time playing Fortnite for u/rob0688, who expressed their fondness for Chapter 3 and how they missed it.

Expressing nostalgia for Chapter 3 as it was their first experience with the game, Reddit user u/savestnn exclaimed:

“chapter 3 was my first time playing fort and i have a soft spot for it specifically bc of it.”

Will players ever see the return of elements from Fortnite Chapter 3?

It is evident from the comments section on the Reddit post that players have mostly positive feedback regarding Chapter 3. This leads to the question of whether Epic Games will reintroduce certain elements from this chapter into the game. While the idea of revisiting this beloved chapter in Fortnite’s history is exciting, it is crucial to keep in mind that Epic Games prioritizes lore when introducing new elements.

Despite the Chapter 3 map being introduced some time ago and characters such as The Foundation and The Last Reality seemingly being removed from the storyline, it is unlikely that Epic Games will revisit the Chapter 3 era in the future. This is especially true with the new storyline by Charlie Wen currently in progress.

Despite these speculations, players could potentially be taken by surprise when iconic characters such as The Seven make a comeback in the narrative with a powerful impact.
