Forget TIME: Texas Monthly Honors Powell as Man of the Year

As an ardent admirer of Brisket Powell, it gives me immense joy to share that Texas Monthly has honored him as their Man of the Year! While some may find it quirky, I wholeheartedly embrace the idea — it’s simply delightful.

This year, Glen Powell’s adorable rescue dog, Brisket, made headlines, accompanying his star-studded father to some of Hollywood’s most glamorous movie premieres. One particularly memorable moment was when Brisket donned a charming bowtie for the premiere of Twisters. Since that event, I haven’t been able to stop raving about it! He has been seen on film sets, gracing red carpets, and essentially enjoying the ultimate dog life alongside Glen Powell. Can anyone blame him for living it up?

Brisket, with his undeniable photogenic charm, has captured the hearts of many. It’s astounding to think that fans flock to movie sets just to catch a glimpse of him rather than his famous owner. Truly iconic, Brisket has reached a level of celebrity in his own right. In a recent feature, Texas Monthly proclaimed Brisket Powell as their Man of the Year, highlighting his remarkable influence throughout the year. Indeed, he is my favorite little celebrity gremlin, and my affection for him knows no bounds.

In light of recent underwhelming choices from TIME’s Person of the Year and PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive, it’s refreshing to see a deserving candidate like Brisket receive such a prestigious title.

Brisket Powell: The People’s Princess

It’s quite impressive that Brisket has amassed over 150,000 followers on social media, surpassing many humans, including myself. I commend him for this achievement! In an amusing twist, it was discovered during the promotional event for Twisters that he previously did not follow his own father on social media. However, I’m happy to report that Glen Powell is now one of the lucky few that Brisket follows, along with the mascot of Raising Cane’s.

To witness a cute dog in a bowtie achieving such social media success is genuinely inspiring. Can you imagine? This is the same pup who witnessed the cast of Twisters perform the “Apple” dance to Charlie XCX’s hit song “Brat” — all while looking dapper in his bowtie!

So here’s to Brisket, my favorite furry friend! While my adorable son (my cat) reigns as the love of my life, Brisket proudly holds a very close second place. I’m thrilled that he has officially earned the title of Man of the Year!
