“Focused on getting the win” – Nong-O Hama says victory the only thing that matters against Kulabdam
Nong-O Hama, a former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion, is eagerly anticipating his upcoming match against Kulabdam So Jor Piek Uthai, also from Thailand. He is determined to emerge victorious and is fully focused on achieving this goal.
The bantamweight Muay Thai showdown between the two Thai fighters will be a highlight of ONE Friday Fights 58 on April 5, held at the renowned Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Nong-O expressed his anticipation for the upcoming competition as it will be his first time facing a fellow countryman in more than three years. He sees it as a chance to end his two-fight losing streak, which is of great significance to him.
In an interview with Sportsmanor, he revealed this information, stating:
“I’m excited as usual because for this fight I’ll be facing a fellow Thai fighter. It has been three years since I’ve faced a Thai. So I’m excited and pumped. I’m focused on getting the win no matter what.”
Take a look at his comments below:
Despite being 35 years old, Nong-O has recently faced some challenges, losing two consecutive fights. The first defeat occurred in April of the previous year, when he was knocked out in the first round by British opponent Jonathan Haggerty, resulting in the loss of his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title. In December, he suffered another knockout in the second round, this time against Scottish fighter Nico Carrillo.
Despite experiencing losses, Nong-O remains determined to continue competing at a high level and plans to demonstrate this at the upcoming ONE Friday Fights 58 event.
Meanwhile, 25-year-old Kulabdam aims to continue his four-fight winning streak. In his latest victory, which took place in February, he secured a second-round TKO against Brazil’s Julio Lobo.

Nong-O aims for another shot at the world championship
Despite already achieving the status of world champion in the sport of Muay Thai, Thai legend Nong-O Hama is determined to continue pushing himself to the top even at this advanced stage of his illustrious career.
Despite being a 37-year-old native of Sakon Nakhon, the long reign of the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion came to an end in April of last year. In their title clash, he was knocked out in the opening round by Jonathan Haggerty.
He has since made a promise to return stronger, make up for the loss, and attempt to reclaim the championship once again.
In an interview with ONE Championship, Nong-O stated:
“Now, I’m trying to earn a title shot, and I believe that I’ll come back greater than ever. My goal before retiring is to become the world champion again.”
Despite his efforts to redeem himself, the former world titleholder’s journey took a rough turn when he suffered a knockout loss to Nico Carrillo in his most recent fight in December.
His upcoming fight against fellow Thai boxer Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai on April 5 at ONE Friday Fights 58 presents an opportunity for him to make a comeback.
