Release Announcement for Dead Reset: A Fresh Addition to the FMV Horror Genre
Wales Interactive, in collaboration with Dark Rift Horror and Northern Film, has officially announced that their highly anticipated FMV horror game, Dead Reset, will launch on September 11, 2025. This title will be available across multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
A Legacy of Innovation in Interactive Gaming
With Dead Reset, Wales Interactive adds yet another hallmark to its impressive portfolio, marking the studio’s 17th foray into interactive cinematic experiences since 2016. Since its inception in 2012, the studio has diversified its offerings, ranging from FMV titles to survival FPS games, 2.5D auto-attack survival games, VR experiences, roguelike deckbuilders, and more.
Experience the Thrills of Dead Reset
Players will step into the role of Cole, a surgeon trapped in a relentless time loop. Each time he awakens, he is faced with the grim task of performing surgery on a patient with a foreign object lodged in their abdomen. However, death doesn’t spare him easily, and each failure sends him spiraling back to the same fateful moment. The trailer hints at the harrowing demise Cole encounters, establishing a gruesome atmosphere that horror fans will surely appreciate.
Platform Development Challenges
While many gamers are eager to explore Dead Reset on various consoles, there are challenges ahead for a potential Nintendo Switch 2 version. Reports indicate that Wales Interactive has struggled to obtain a development kit for the new console. This issue has persisted since the announcement of the Switch 2 and, as of a few weeks ago, numerous studios are still facing similar hurdles. Wales Interactive has expressed a desire to support the platform, despite these setbacks.
