Among these, the 18 puzzles presented challenge both seasoned players and newcomers alike. A notable highlight is that 16 out of the 18 puzzles were developed in collaboration with the Talos Principle community, showcasing the developers’ appreciation for player input and creativity.

This guide is specifically tailored to help you navigate the Flying Cubes puzzle located in the Egypt section of the In the Beginning expansion of The Talos Principle: Reawakened. While most of the puzzle is manageable for veterans, you’ll find that the final phase is where the real challenge lies.

Flying Cubes Puzzle Guide: Step-by-Step Solution

The Flying Cubes puzzle is engaging, yet it can quickly become perplexing as you strive to position the last pieces correctly to exit with your tetromino. Although the initial segments of the puzzle are straightforward, the concluding steps often require some clever adjustments. Let’s break down the solution.

Phase One: Gathering Essential Tools

Like many puzzles in The Talos Principle series, your first objective is to gather the necessary tools to progress.

Upon entering the puzzle area, turn left to climb a ladder and acquire a jammer and a pressure switch. Activate the switch to witness a cube soaring onto another switch—this sets you up for the main objective: getting four cubes to land on four pressure switches to unlock the tetromino gate.

With the jammer in hand, fall back to the ground and venture further into the puzzle area. Here, you will find two blue barrier shields; use the jammer on the left one. Proceed past the jammed barrier to locate the remaining items required for completion: one connector is accessible, while the other is trapped behind a barrier.

To free the trapped connector, use the accessible one to connect the blue beam to the blue node that deactivates the barrier. Once released, retrieve the blocked connector. For simplicity, let’s refer to the first connector as C1 and the second as C2.

Position C1 on the pressure switch in front of the red laser and connect it to the red beam. Then, take C2 and link it to C1 and the nearby red nodes, providing redundancy by keeping the same barrier off. With this done, retrieve the jammer and transport it alongside C1 and C2 past the barriers.

Phase Two: Executing the Plan

Now that you have gathered all of your essential tools in one area, you can proceed with the next steps in any order. However, it may be beneficial to tackle the most complex parts first.

Notice that the red nodes you’re connected to are deactivating shield barriers. Carry the jammer to the far side of the farthest shield barrier, where two fans block your path to a box. Use the jammer to keep the barrier down, allowing access to the box while the red laser maintains its function.

Take C1, connect it to the distant red node, and place it directly where it would intersect with the blue beam keeping one of the fans operational.

Next, adjust C2 by connecting it to the blue beam and C1. When placed down, this loop will deactivate the beam powering one of the fans, allowing for box retrieval.

With both fans now off, use the jammer to disable the second fan, then gather the box and transport it back to the main puzzle area as you did previously. Finally, deactivate the shield barrier at the top of the stairs with the jammer.

Position the box atop the stairs in front of the fan, then step on the pressure switch beside the fan to activate it. This will launch the box onto one of the four pressure switches, paving the way to open the tetromino gate.

Phase Three: Completing the Puzzle

Successfully transporting the box to its designated pressure switch can be the trickiest segment of this puzzle, but once accomplished, the remaining steps are much clearer.

Use the jammer to keep the shield barrier on the left side of the main puzzle area disabled, allowing for smoother progression.

The last two boxes are positioned atop tall towers and can be launched using fans powered by blue and red lasers. Attach C1 to the far right blue node to trigger the first launch.

Reposition C1 in front of the red beam on the pressure switch, and connect it to ensure proper launch. Subsequently, connect C2 to C1 and the nearby red node to launch the final box.
