Expectations for the Cursed Seas Update
The official trailer for the Cursed Seas update hints at a wealth of new features. Players will experience the thrill of spawning in an entirely new world, moving beyond Moosewood as the starting point of their journey. The trailer showcases numerous new locations and an extensive redesign of fishing spots to enhance your fishing experience.

Players can also anticipate a fresh currency system and exciting new creatures in the game’s bestiary, along with various new fishing rods. Upon accessing the new map, players will be assisted by a Sea Traveler, and importantly, your existing progress and currency will remain intact—though the new seas will feature a unique currency separate from the original.
While the Cursed Seas update will not kick off with a live event, it may include cinematic sequences that introduce players to its main threat: the formidable Big Dreamer Cthulu. The trailer also teases a substantial Cthulu den, culminating in a dramatic reveal of a Cthulu boss, reminiscent of the Scylla boss from previous updates.

Content creator Carbon Meister notes that the gameplay in the Cursed Seas is designed to evoke a more casual vibe, in line with the game’s original release. Players can also look forward to an increased level cap of 2500, with exciting rewards potentially including a new rod known as the Miku Rod.
Among the distinct rods being introduced is the Verdant Shear rod, a creative blend of scissor and sword, which will produce trees and mutations in the gameplay. Additionally, the Frog Rod will benefit players by spawning frogs while they fish, enhancing their luck with each frog appearing. Another unique addition is the Free Spirit Rod, which will shower gems during fishing, creating a visually stunning effect.
For beginners, several new rods will also be available, such as the Rod of the Lagoon, Firefly Rod, and Wildflower Rod, ensuring that all players can enjoy the experience.
In addition to these significant gameplay changes, players can anticipate quality-of-life adjustments based on feedback from players, including potential updates like bulk purchasing of Enchant Relics and easier access to the Conception Conch from merchants.
To celebrate the Cursed Seas update, Fisch developers will distribute unique skins, including a Cthulu-themed boat, so be sure to log in a few minutes before the official launch for exclusive rewards!
