The Minecraft 1.21.2 pre-release 1 for the Bundles of Bravery has been launched, introducing a variety of updates to gameplay mechanics and features.

Notably, modifications have been made to the creaking mob’s behavior; it will no longer activate or become immobile when players are in Creative mode. This functionality is exclusively available to players venturing into the Pale Garden in survival mode or the newly introduced Hardcore mode.

Furthermore, creaking entities summoned from the Creaking Heart can no longer be assigned names using a nametag. If you want to name one Bob (or the less popular, Steve), you must discover wild creakings in the Pale Garden.

Another notable modification includes the change in comparator output from the creaking heart block, which will now vary based on the distance to the connected creaking.

In terms of gameplay mechanics, the user interface for air bubbles has undergone a significant redesign. Now featuring an empty state and wobbling animations when a player is drowning, air bubbles also emit a popping sound effect.

This pre-release version has also upgraded the Data Pack to version 57 and the Resource Pack to version 41. The Data Pack includes new game rules related to player speed constraints and an updated camera overlay. Meanwhile, the Resource Pack reflects considerable UI enhancements concerning air bubbles.

Moreover, the 1.21.2 pre-release has rectified various game issues, including bundle animations and the color mapping for pale oak saplings. These bug fixes are part of a larger effort to polish features introduced in earlier snapshots, preparing them for the official release.

Pre-releases are among the most exciting updates in Minecraft, as they typically herald the approach of the official stable version or release candidate.

This 1.21.2 pre-release 1 marks the conclusion of the popular snapshot 24w40a, which offered players a preview of both the Pale Garden and creaking mechanics.

The previous pre-release, 1.21 pre-release 1, was made available on May 29, 2024, shortly followed by the Java Edition update titled 1.21 Tricky Trials on June 13, 2024.

Players should anticipate the Bundles of Bravery update to launch soon, likely between mid-October and early November, if past patterns hold true regarding pre-releases and subsequent update rollouts.

As of now, Mojang has yet to release any official updates, leaving players eager to discover the announcement of the final update date.
