Samsung is gearing up to unveil its groundbreaking triple-folding smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold. Insight from the K-Tech Showcase: Galaxy Z TriFold Displayed

The Galaxy Z TriFold prototype was recently exhibited at the Samsung booth during the K-Tech Showcase. This event coincides with the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit, which took place at the Air Dome in Gyeongju Expo Park on October 28. According to the Korean publication Dailian, attendees were able to view the device within a protective glass case, adding an air of anticipation. Notable tech informant Ice Universe shared striking images of this prototype on Weibo.

The unique G-shaped dual-infolding framework of the Galaxy Z TriFold allows the device to fold inward. With three screens instead of the usual two, the smartphone is equipped with two hinges that maintain its structural integrity. When fully extended, the display area rivals that of a 10-inch tablet, providing an expansive viewing experience for users.

Reports indicate that the prototype displayed at the event did not exhibit any visible creases, a significant achievement in foldable technology. Samsung’s strategic entry into this niche market presents an opportunity to capture early adopters of triple-folding devices. However, potential customers may be deterred by the expected high price point. Early estimates suggest the Galaxy Z TriFold could retail for around 3 million Korean won, equivalent to approximately $2, 085.
