Recently, producer Amy Pascal confirmed filming is slated to commence in July 2025. Gerwig, celebrated for her remarkable storytelling in hits such as Barbie and Little Women, will direct two feature films exploring the classic tales, with Pascal contributing her expertise as a producer. She revealed that Gerwig’s reimagining will take on a “very new”approach, characterized as “all about rock and roll.”While the details remain somewhat vague, the suggestion of such a modern twist raises curiosity amongst fans and suggests a fresh interpretation of Lewis’s classic.

Pascal expressed admiration for Gerwig, stating she’s “never seen anyone like her,”hinting at the director’s unique capability to spotlight essential narratives while challenging conventional norms. Filming is confirmed to begin in July 2025, signaling an exciting phase for this adaptation.

Netflix’s collaboration with The C.S. Lewis Company was first announced back in October 2018 as part of a “multi-year deal,” indicating the platform’s intent to produce multiple film and series adaptations based on the Narnia literary universe.
