Episode 7 of Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist premiered on Peacock on October 3, 2024. The previous installment unveiled that Richard ‘Cadillac Richie’ Wheeler, portrayed by Terrence Howard, was the mastermind behind the robbery at Vivian’s house. The latest episode delves into his motives.
In the climactic moments of the episode, we see Cadillac Richie’s mother visiting him. She urges him to confront Frank (played by Samuel Jackson) and bring him down. This exchange suggests that Frank became the leading mob boss after cleverly eliminating Richie’s father from the equation. Consequently, Richie seeks revenge against Frank.
The synopsis for episode 7, titled Round Seven: Jekyll Island, reads:
“Detective Hudson and Chicken Man track the robbers to the Georgia coast, culminating in an explosive standoff; Vivian forges an unlikely alliance, securing her future.”
Beyond revealing Richie’s motives, episode 7 of Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist explores various plot details that add depth to the narrative. Fans can anticipate a thrilling build-up leading to the season finale.
Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist Episode 7: Richie seeks vengeance
In a tense moment from episode 6, the friction between Richie and Frank was evident when Richie suggested that Frank was losing his grip on power. Following the setbacks from the robbery, Richie believed it was time for a younger, more dynamic leader, like himself, to take over.
Frank did not take this proposition well. However, Richie’s comments signified a deeper disdain for Frank than he portrayed to others. The latest episode clarifies why his animosity runs so deep.
The final scene of episode 7 highlights Richie’s mother’s insistence on humiliating and ultimately defeating Frank. A large portrait of Richie’s deceased father looms in his office, and as she reminisces, she reveals how Frank schemed to ascend the ranks by sidelining Richie’s father. Just before the credits roll, Richie promises his mother that he will destroy Frank.
What unfolds in Jekyll Island?
In the preceding episode of Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, Hudson and Chicken Man (also known as Gordon) tracked Mac, Willie Black, and Baby Ray to their safe house. In episode 7, the trio takes all the cash and heads to Dolphin Club on Jekyll Island, as Emerson had instructed them to go there.
Emerson mentioned that they would receive their share of the robbery upon arrival at Dolphin Club. However, Cadillac Richie had ordered Emerson to eliminate all three once they arrived.
Reluctant to kill them due to his close ties with Willie and Mac, Emerson instead warns Willie about an impending danger and advises him to take Ray out. Yet, this proves to be a challenging task.
While Baby Ray is still very young, Willie Black, despite being ruthless, shares a brotherly bond with him, making it difficult for him to pull the trigger. This complicates the situation when Emerson arrives at the club.
When Emerson presses Willie about “taking care of loose ends,” Mac quickly realizes that under Cadillac Richie’s rule, no one is safe. He draws a gun on Emerson and Willie, demanding they let Ray go. Ironically, just then, Ray walks in brandishing a gun and shoots Mac dead.
Mac, who previously saved Emerson’s life, dies in his arms, leaving Emerson consumed by grief and anger. This results in Emerson firing a shot at Ray, killing him instantly. In a fit of rage, Willie retaliates by shooting Emerson.
What are Hudson and Chicken Man up to?
By episode 6 of Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, Hudson and Gordon had formed a formidable partnership. In the latest episode, they reach Jekyll Island as well. Hudson persuades Mac to withdraw from their mission, promising he will advocate for the most lenient sentence possible for Ray.
Convinced that surrendering is their best option, Mac agrees; however, things take a turn when Emerson arrives at the club. Willie grabs all the money and attempts to escape, but Hudson manages to wound him.
As the episode approaches its conclusion, Hudson and Chicken Man confront an injured Willie, now groaning on the ground. They intend to use Willie to track down Richie.
The season finale of Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist is scheduled for release on October 10, 2024.
