The Rising Event in Final Fantasy XIV Returns with Exciting New Minion
The highly anticipated annual event, The Rising, is set to return next week in Final Fantasy XIV. Square Enix has unveiled details for the 2025 iteration, which will feature a special Wind-up Gulool Ja Ja Minion, inspired by the upcoming FFXIV expansion, Dawntrail. Players can start earning this unique item beginning August 27, 2025.
Event Details and Reward Information
To participate in The Rising event, adventurers will need to travel to Limsa Lominsa, specifically to the Upper Desks area. The Wandering Minstrel can be found at coordinates X:11.3, Y:13.7. Players who are at least level 15 can engage in the quest titled “An Adventurous Ambition” to secure this year’s exclusive reward. Notably, completing the Dawntrail storyline is not a prerequisite for participation.
A Closer Look at Gulool Ja Ja
Players will remember Gulool Ja Ja from the Dawntrail expansion, where they encountered him in Tuliyollal. This unique Mamool Ja Minion shares his signature two-headed design. Throughout the main storyline, players followed Gulool Ja Ja on his quest to find a worthy successor, adding depth to his character and creating a strong connection with the player base.
Past Rewards and Anticipation for 2025
As in previous iterations, Square Enix has confirmed that rewards from past The Rising events will return with the opening of this year’s event. For instance, participants in 2024 had the chance to obtain the Brushed-Up Krile Minion, which presented her in the style of a Pictomancer.
