At the recent Gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live, Capcom made headlines by announcing an intriguing crossover event for their popular game, Monster Hunter Wilds. This collaboration will introduce characters inspired by Final Fantasy XIV into the game, including a Chocobo set to replace the Seikret during gameplay. Players can look forward to these additions in September 2025, following the anticipated free Title Update 3, scheduled for release in late September.
In-Game Events and Features
In addition to the new characters, an exciting in-game event themed around FFXIV is planned to roll out in October 2025. The crossover will transform elements within Monster Hunter Wilds, such as incorporating a Chocobo to serve as a Seikret replacement, alongside the appearance of fan-favorite creatures like the Cactuar and an intense battle featuring Omega Planetes.
New Additions to Final Fantasy XIV
The crossover will also benefit players of Final Fantasy XIV, as elements from Monster Hunter Wilds make their way into the MMORPG. One of the standout additions includes Arkveld, the flagship monster of the latest entry, appearing as a formidable enemy. Moreover, the Seikret will reemerge as a mount, and a Palico similar to that found in Wilds will be part of the new content.
