Square Enix Confirms Framerate for FFVII Remake Intergrade on Switch 2
In a recent announcement via social media, Square Enix clarified that the upcoming Switch 2 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will run at a steady 30 frames per second (fps). This revelation follows initial rumors stemming from demos showcased at gamescom 2025, which suggested that players might experience a gameplay framerate as high as 40fps, as mentioned in discussions across platforms like Reddit.
The choice to cap the framerate at 30fps on the Switch 2 aligns with the performance metrics observed on the PlayStation 4 version. Notably, players on the PS5 are afforded options between two modes: Graphics and Performance. Selecting Graphics mode limits gameplay to 30fps, while Performance mode allows for an enhanced experience at up to 60fps.
Expected Resolution and Display Capabilities
While the specific resolution settings for FFVII Remake Intergrade on the Switch 2 were not detailed alongside the 30fps confirmation, some insights into the system’s capabilities give us an idea. Typically, when played in handheld mode, the Switch 2 can deliver visuals at 1080p. On the other hand, when the console is docked, certain titles can potentially reach 4K resolution, depending on the game and the television used.
