New Concept Art of Cait Sith and Red XIII from FFVII Rebirth
Square Enix has unveiled captivating new concept art via the official Final Fantasy VII Remake social media account. This latest artwork features the iconic characters Cait Sith and Red XIII in their frog forms, showcasing the playful effects of the Toad status applied in FFVII Rebirth. Consistent with the franchise’s attention to detail, these amphibious versions maintain distinct characteristics and accessories reminiscent of their original forms.
Cait Sith: The Toad Transformation
In its amphibian incarnation, Cait Sith embraces a striking black and white palette, closely mirroring a tuxedo cat’s appearance. The design retains his signature crown and red cape, elements that underscore the character’s iconic identity. Interestingly, the creative team toyed with the idea of introducing two frogs to symbolize Cait Sith’s connection with his Moogle companion, ultimately leading to this imaginative single form.
Red XIII: A Unique Frog Design
Similarly, the frog version of Red XIII features a vibrant red hue, complete with markings that reflect his true design. Noteworthy details include two feather-like accents positioned behind its eyes and a scar adorning its right eye, skillfully integrating the essence of his original character into this whimsical representation.
