Summary of FBI Season 7 Episode 3
The episode begins with an explosion at a grocery store, resulting in the tragic death of the store’s owner and severe injuries to several individuals, including Javi. Hugo Soto, Javi’s brother, assists Agents Maggie and OA in deciphering a notebook hidden in a store safe, leading them to connect the incident to the store owner’s prior gambling business.
Following the initial bombing, a series of additional explosions occur throughout New York, prompting ASAC Jubal to speculate a potential gang conflict. Meanwhile, Maggie and OA identify a suspicious individual who plants a bomb at a bar and escapes. The agents efficiently evacuate patrons and later use CCTV footage to track the suspect.
To their surprise, the attacker is revealed to be a lone wolf, acting independently. Swift intelligence work leads the agents to his location, and Agents Scola and Chris successfully apprehend him.
As the investigation unfolds, it becomes clear that the lone wolf utilized a mysterious application created by Pyramid Security to coordinate his attacks. OA takes a bold step by reaching out to Clay, an old friend currently employed at Pyramid Security, who assists in tracing the lone wolf’s calls to a property owned by Fernando Perez, a real estate investor.
Perez emerges as the primary suspect, seemingly motivated to induce fear through the bomb threats to facilitate the purchase of Jackson Heights, an area he is interested in acquiring.
However, the storyline takes a shocking turn when it is disclosed that Perez’s son was behind the bombings, striving to impress his emotionally distant father by proving his capabilities.
The episode concludes with Perez’s son being arrested; however, in a tense climax, Soto appears with a gun and shoots at Perez, just as Maggie attempts to intervene.
