Exciting Updates for FBC: Firebreak with Breakpoint Release
Remedy Entertainment’s inaugural online cooperative multiplayer game, FBC: Firebreak, has encountered performance challenges since its debut. Nevertheless, the Finnish game studio remains committed to enhancing player experiences through impactful updates. The first significant iteration, titled Breakpoint, is set to launch on Monday, September 29, bringing with it a suite of improvements and fresh content.
New Content and Features
Breakpoint introduces a fresh playable Crisis mission named Outbreak. Located within the Research Sector, this mission presents players with a Mold infestation, introducing distinctive challenges and formidable enemies. A revamped Job Board has been replaced with a Crisis Board that features a dynamic selection of curated crises, refreshed every thirty minutes. Players can expect four to six active Crises at any given time, which vary from complete runs to shorter tasks or Corrupted Jobs.
Diverse Crisis Objectives
Each Crisis will come with its own set of randomized rewards, objectives, and durations. Zones 1-2 have been refined to simplify requirements while occasionally offering unique Alternative Objectives for increased gameplay diversity. Additionally, the new Quick Reinforce feature enables players to jump into ongoing runs to assist fellow teams, fostering greater collaboration.
Upgrades and New Weapons
With the Breakpoint update, every weapon and piece of gear in FBC: Firebreak will be fully powered upon unlocking. Players can acquire new gear simply through gameplay and leveling, while a more streamlined currency system will focus on unlocking cosmetic enhancements and Perk upgrades. A significant addition includes a new progression layer featuring 27 gun mods.
The update also brings an arsenal of three brand-new heavy weapons: a semi-automatic rifle, a scattergun, and a rotary cannon, along with three new types of grenades: Freeze, Healing, and Black Rock. Furthermore, players will encounter increased enemy variety with five new enemy types, including two Mold foes exclusive to the Outbreak Crisis and three new Hiss threats, such as the Corrupted Ranger and the Demolition Expert.

Accessibility Enhancements
FBC: Firebreak is also set to incorporate a new tutorial level, orientation videos, and a redesigned early-game flow, significantly enhancing accessibility for newcomers. Quality-of-life improvements include already unlocked Altered Augments and Improvised Devices from level 1. These additions enhance usability during gameplay, while players will now have the ability to move while downed and utilize a sliding mechanic.
Future Developments
Breakpoint marks just the beginning of Remedy’s commitment to expanding FBC: Firebreak. The next major update, poised for release in late November, will feature a new game mode and cross-platform voice chat. A third patch is planned for release in March 2026, promising to further enrich the gaming experience.
