Fatshark Celebrates a Successful Launch of Warhammer 40K: Darktide’s DLC

This week, Swedish game developer Fatshark unveiled its inaugural paid downloadable content (DLC) for the popular game Warhammer 40K: Darktide, introducing the Adeptus Arbites class. Following the launch, the studio announced impressive results, which have left them excited about the game’s reception.

Martin Wahlund, the CEO and Co-Founder of Fatshark, expressed his gratitude, stating:

We more than doubled our estimated player goals on launch day alone. Thank you for making this launch one to remember!

Engagement Metrics Highlight Player Enthusiasm

Fatshark also shared some intriguing statistics that demonstrate player engagement with the new content. Notably, the Cyber-Mastiff companion has been petted over 459, 760 times, showcasing players’ affection for this delightful addition. Furthermore, players have already achieved remarkable feats with the Adeptus Arbites class, having eliminated an astonishing 553, 082, 097 enemies.

Examining weapon usage, the most popular melee weapon so far is the Mk III Branx Pattern Arbites Shock Maul, utilized almost 1 million times. The champions of long-range combat favored the Mk III Executioner Pattern Arbites Shotgun, which has seen over 1.1 million uses. Players have predominantly activated the Break The Line ability, with an impressive 715, 525 activations.

DLC Pricing and Offerings

The new Arbites DLC is priced at $11.99, with a Deluxe Edition available for $18.99. This premium version includes exclusive items such as a unique class outfit, an exclusive companion outfit, a customizable portrait frame accessible to all classes, and four special weapon skins.

Additional Updates Enhance the Gameplay Experience

In conjunction with the DLC launch, Fatshark rolled out a free update designed to refine the gameplay experience for newcomers. This update introduced a revamped mission board system that expanded mission options available to all characters, significantly enhancing the game’s accessibility. Additionally, the update increased the maximum number of Operatives and weapon loadouts to eight, providing players with more versatility in their gameplay strategies.

Moreover, the developers have incorporated around 900 new banter conversations between characters, enriching the narrative and overall immersion of the game.

Parallels with Other Warhammer 40K Titles

Interestingly, Darktide isn’t the sole Warhammer 40K title to recently introduce new content featuring the Adeptus Arbites. Owlcat Games has also rolled out the Lex Imperialis expansion for their Rogue Trader cRPG, which similarly showcases the Adeptus Arbites class and introduces a new companion, Solomorne Anthar, to the mix.
