In the realm of Monster Hunter Wilds, Comaqchi Carapaces are essential crafting materials used for forging various armor pieces and weapons. Although some players may collect a few carapaces without much hassle, acquiring enough to craft desired items can prove challenging. This comprehensive guide provides effective strategies for quickly farming Comaqchi Carapaces to enhance your gameplay experience.
It’s important to note that Comaqchi Carapaces can only be collected after reaching High Rank status in the game. Most players will likely have achieved this level, but if you haven’t, it’s advisable to revisit this guide once you complete the third chapter of the game.
Efficient Farming of Comaqchi Carapaces
Step 1: Unlock the “Dream Eaters”Optional Quest
The first step in your farming endeavor is to unlock the “Dream Eaters”optional quest. To do this, you’ll need to reach Hunter Rank 9 and hunt down a High Rank Comaqchi. You can find these small monsters in Area 8 of the Iceshard Cliffs, just south of the Base Camp. Utilize the in-game Filter Icons feature to locate them easily, and refer to the accompanying map for additional guidance.
Be sure to carve the body of each Comaqchi you defeat, as every kill guarantees a Comaqchi Carapace.
Step 2: Post and Complete the “Dream Eaters”Quest
After successfully defeating a Comaqchi, interact with Alma at any Base Camp’s Tent, post a new quest, and select the “Dream Eaters”option from the Optional Quests tab. Confirm your selection by clicking “Accept & Depart, ”which will transport you to the Iceshard Cliffs.
Once the quest starts, you will be tasked with eliminating eight Comaqchi. These monsters are marked on the map as purple diamonds with green dots. Choose one of these markers, set a waypoint, and engage Seikret’s Auto-move Mode to travel automatically to your target. This feature can be activated by pressing up on your controller’s d-pad or tapping a designated key on your keyboard.
Upon reaching the selected Comaqchi, eliminate it along with any nearby monsters, then carve the carcasses for additional Comaqchi Carapaces. Return to your map, set a new waypoint on another purple diamond, and repeat the journey using Auto-move Mode. Complete this process until you finish the “Dream Eaters”quest, and feel free to post the quest again should you need more carapaces for crafting.
