Fans Urge Gordo to Release Old Hard Drive Featuring Tracks from Takeoff, Kanye West, Young Thug, and More
Rapper, DJ, and music producer Gordo, also known as Diamanté Anthony Blackmon, has announced the discovery of a hard drive packed with vintage unreleased tracks from legendary artists such as Kanye West, Chris Brown, Young Thug, Takeoff, and more. This revelation has sparked significant excitement within the hip-hop community.
Gordo, a Nicaraguan-American DJ and producer, garnered fame for his dynamic DJ mixes and EDM tracks. His debut album Papi Gordo was released in 2015 and achieved a top position on the Dance/Electronic Albums chart. The following year, he released his second album, Battered, Bruised and Bloody, which received accolades from both fans and critics.
Gordo’s announcement on X (formerly Twitter) has set the hip-hop world abuzz, with many fans urging him to share the entire trove of unreleased tracks. Some of the notable responses on X include:
“Leak it,”urged one fan.
“Go back to being Carnage,”wrote another fan.
“Time for Carnage to step out for a bit,”agreed another.
Some fans suggested that Gordo should emulate Drake’s recent approach and release a comprehensive list of unreleased tracks, like one fan who tweeted:
“Should pull a drake and release 100GBs of unseen and unreleased shit.”
“Drop it and call the site 1000MBs.org lol,”quipped another.
“Carnage makes a comeback? That would feed families for generations,”opined one netizen.
Another fan suggested that Gordo consider sampling some of these unreleased tracks for his next album.
“Use it as samples for the next batch,”wrote the fan.
“Would be a shame if the hard drive went missing and all the songs were accidentally leaked,”tweeted another.
“Man, you’ve got Ye and Chris Brown!! And you don’t release?”wrote one fan on X.
Drake’s Massive Release Preceded Gordo’s Discovery
Prior to Gordo’s exciting revelation, Drake made headlines in August 2024 by releasing a massive collection of unreleased tracks, studio footage, and behind-the-scenes content on a site called 100gigs.org.
This extensive archive featured 100 gigabytes of organized content, documenting his studio process from March 7 to June 8. After the archive went live, Drake confirmed its authenticity via his Instagram story.
The site offers hip-hop enthusiasts a wealth of content, showcasing behind-the-scenes footage from iconic tracks including Hotline Bling and Honestly Nevermind, as well as clips of Drake collaborating with famed producers like Boi-1da and Noah “40” Shebib.
Among the latest additions to the archive is a folder titled 1_NEW, which includes three new tracks, such as It’s Up featuring 21 Savage and Young Thug, and Housekeeping Knows featuring Latto and Blue Green Red.
Latto confirmed the legitimacy of Housekeeping Knows by sharing a video of herself rapping along with the track on X. This song was produced by Gordo.
This release marked one of Drake’s most significant drops since his notorious beef with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar, which culminated in influential tracks such as Drake’s The Heart Part 6 and Lamar’s Not Like Us, the latter amassing over 153 million views on YouTube at the time of writing.
