Fans Speculate BABYMONSTER and YG Entertainment’s Shade Towards HYBE Following Controversial Internal Document Leak

The popular band BABYMONSTER unveiled the latest installment of BAEMON NEWS on their YouTube channel on October 29, 2024. During this episode, they announced the much-anticipated release of their debut album, titled DRIP, set to drop on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 1 PM KST.

This recent broadcast of BAEMON NEWS 7 featured RORA presenting the news, where she alluded to someone allegedly planning to reveal compromising information about the girl group. RORA disclosed that they had received intel about an individual intending to “expose startling truths about BABYMONSTER.”

“[Unbelievable! The reality about BAEMON, internal leak by a YG employee]” RORA mentioned.

While the person’s identity was kept under wraps in the video, fans speculated that the commentary by the group and YG Entertainment contained barbs directed at HYBE following a disputed document leak.

In light of the NewJeans bullying saga, the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism had briefly made some leaked documents public. These documents suggested that HYBE aimed to isolate NewJeans from its other popular girl groups, such as LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT.

HYBE also faced allegations regarding the disparagement of various K-pop bands under its umbrella, including NewJeans, BLACKPINK, BABYMONSTER, SMNGG, TWICE, aespa, IVE, and Stray Kids, among others.

Fans speculated that the new segment in BAEMON NEWS 7 alluded to these documents, taking to social media to commend the group for their indirect diss towards HYBE together with YG Entertainment. One X user remarked that it was “definitely” a dig at HYBE.

“You omitted to mention that YG’s internal staff (Pharita) stated that BABYMONSTER are all dangerously beautiful. An evident shade from Company H,” the user commented.

Numerous other users on X chimed in on the girl group’s impassioned remarks, with many labeling it the “perfect way to retaliate.”Others highlighted the impeccable timing of the comments.

“The only flawless way to retaliate lmao, the girls don’t mess around,” stated one fan.

“I can just imagine that YG employee chuckling in the background while RORA delivered that line,” remarked another supporter.

“The timing couldn’t be more perfect,” noted a fan.

“YG doesn’t need to take a swing at HYBE or make any statements; just let BABYMONSTER perform live on music shows, and that’s all there is to it. End of story,” commented another.

“They don’t have to throw shade at HYBE. The talent gap is evident if you compare groups,” wrote a fan.

“AS THEY SHOULD, HONESTLY,” shared another enthusiast.

“The HYBE diss, and the timing is just impeccable! BABYMONSTER COMEBACK D2,” commented an excited fan.
