Fans Respond to Alleged LE SSERAFIM Fan’s Complaint Against BTS’ Taehyung for Breach of Military Law Over Min Hee-jin Contact
On October 30, South Korean news agency Sports Kyunghyang reported that a social media user accused BTS member Taehyung of breaching military regulations. This internet user is reportedly a fan of the girl group LE SSERAFIM, and the allegation pertains to Taehyung’s interactions with Min Hee-jin, the former CEO of ADOR. During a recent livestream, Min Hee-jin discussed her correspondence with BTS’ V.
In her comments, she shared that the idol frequently reached out during his military service to check on her well-being amid ongoing disputes between her, HYBE, and ADOR. Notably, she mentioned how he sent her cheerful birthday wishes at the dawn of her special day, which she found heartwarming.
Following these revelations, the aforementioned user lodged a formal complaint with the Ministry of National Defense, alleging that Taehyung broke military law. The basis for the accusation hinged on a text message he sent to Min Hee-jin during his initial training phase, claiming that the use of cell phones is prohibited during this period. The petition stated:
“Soldier V sent a text message in the early hours on December 16, 2023, just five days after enlisting on December 11, indicating he violated the rules while still in training.”
The petition further asserted,
“This constitutes a grave violation of military regulations, and I suspect that officials may have overlooked his cellphone use due to his fame as a K-pop idol.”
As news of this complaint spread online, fans expressed confusion and outrage. Many argued that filing such a complaint against Taehyung was unjustified and suggested it was a malicious attempt to undermine both him and BTS. Here are some responses from users on X regarding the accusations targeting the idol:
“This is just ridiculous,”one fan remarked.
“Fearnots love to insert themselves in everything related to Min Hee-jin, lol,”commented a user on X.
“Fearnots are being absurd. Complaining about a casual conversation? Enough already,”noted another fan.
“Fearnots vs. Armys. I’m ready for this ‘sibling fandom’ showdown,”quipped a netizen.
Additional fans and netizens chimed in to express that the accusation was illogical, as using a phone during military service is not completely prohibited.
“This is an overreaction,”stated one fan.
“It’s amusing how people misinterpret the rules. What kind of world are we in if soldiers can’t use phones? Have you ever been in the military?”added another fan.
“Lol, you can indeed use your phone during the nighttime in the military. Do these fans know anything?”claimed an X user.
“Why are they trying so hard to be involved?”added another netizen.
Min Hee-jin Discusses Her Connection with BTS’ Taehyung
On the same day, Min Hee-jin was featured on Kim Young-dae’s School of Music livestream on YouTube. She elaborated that Taehyung frequently reached out to her during his military service amidst her disputes with HYBE and ADOR. She mentioned that most of Taehyung’s messages were intended to ensure her well-being during the turbulent times, saying:
“V contacts me occasionally from the military. He has such a bright personality. Despite my struggles, he cheerfully asked, ‘Are you okay?’”
She further explained,
“I felt so appreciated that he cared. He texted me at dawn on my birthday while serving, which truly touched my heart.”
Min Hee-jin’s birthday is December 16, which the netizen used as a reference in the complaint regarding Taehyung’s alleged phone use during his training. Furthermore, the user made points about another BTS member, SUGA’s recent DUI incident, stating:
“I hope a thorough investigation is conducted. This is in light of SUGA (Min Yoon-gi) being involved in a drunk driving incident while under public service. I intend to share this report widely.”
In any case, fans and internet users have largely voiced their discontent with the claims made against Taehyung, sparking discussions about the credibility of the accuser’s claim of being a fan of LE SSERAFIM.
