‘Agatha All Along’ unveils Joe Locke as Wiccan

The highly anticipated fifth episode of Agatha All Along debuted on October 9, revealing that Joe Locke plays the superhero Wiccan, whose true name is Billy Kaplan. This character is also the offspring of the Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, depicted by Elizabeth Olsen.

Prior to the fifth episode, titled Darkest Hour / Wake Thy Power, Locke’s character was referred to simply as ‘Teen.’ Julian Hilliard portrayed a younger version of this character in the 2021 series Wandavision.

The episode’s final scene featured Billy donning a crown reminiscent of the Scarlet Witch, gazing directly into the lens as Billie Eilish’s song, You Should See Me in a Crown, played in the background.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly published on October 14, Locke admitted that he was not very familiar with Billy Kaplan’s backstory prior to obtaining the role. He noted that he later immersed himself in the character’s comic precedents. When discussing his hopes for his character’s future, Joe Locke stated:

“In my ideal world, Billy would become the next head of the Avengers and star in every Marvel production, but there are bigger matters at play,”

He continued:

“Filming Agatha has been an incredible experience, and being part of the Marvel universe is something I would cherish for a lifetime. But I cannot predict the future; maybe someone else can.”

Agatha All Along is currently streaming on Disney Plus, with the sixth episode featuring Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness set to air on Wednesday, October 16.
