Fans Remember BTS’ Jin as ‘Super Tuna’ is Reportedly Removed from Spotify After Extended Version Release

On Friday, October 11, Jin from BTS unveiled the extended version of his popular single “Super Tuna”across multiple streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. The corresponding music video premiered on BTS’ official YouTube channel, BANGTANTV. Following this release, the original version of “Super Tuna,”which debuted in December 2021, was taken down from Jin’s Spotify profile as part of the update.

In anticipation of the “Super Tuna (extended version)”launch, the artist hosted a live session on Weverse, a Korean social media platform, on October 10, where he celebrated Jimin’s upcoming birthday (October 13). During the livestream, Jin announced the new track’s debut and revealed his intention to remove the original song. As reported by the X user @bt212008, Kim Seok-jin commented:

“Initially, I planned to update the single across different platforms. Some allow changes while others don’t. I suggested just deleting the old version and starting fresh! I asked if we could just delete it, but some felt it might be sad, so we opted to switch to the longer version. For sites that don’t support the new upload, we’ll remove the original and introduce the new version.”

Soon after, fans discovered that the original version of “Super Tuna”had indeed been removed from Spotify, leading to a mixed wave of reactions online. One user on X expressed their emotions writing,

“You will always be missed… goodbye.”

Some fans felt disappointed, while others recognized Jin’s commitment to his decision regarding the original “Super Tuna”track.

“This man wasn’t joking yesterday at all,” a fan shared.

“WAIT DID THEY JUST DELETE OG SUPER TUNA FROM SEOKJIN’S SPOTIFY PROFILE???” wrote another supporter.

“I thought it was just a glitch with that green wifi app,” a user commented.

One commentator suggested that fans should honor Jin’s preferences, while another noted the similarity between this situation and Jungkook’s recent decision to delete his Instagram account, which boasted nearly 53 million followers.

“It’s sad, but this was exactly what Jin requested. We respect his decision,” stated another user on X.

“He mentioned this during his live, and it happened… OG Super Tuna, you were a trailblazer,” commented another fan.

“With Jungkook deleting his Instagram with 52 million followers and Seokjin removing his song with 136 million streams, it shows they are purely here for their music and fans,” wrote another admirer.
