The team behind Rich Homie Quan has recently shared the late rapper’s inaugural posthumous album, titled Forever Going In, which became available on streaming services on October 4, 2024.
The announcement for the album was made a day prior to its release, through a post on Quan’s official Instagram profile. This highly anticipated record features a total of 34 tracks, with contributions from artists such as 2 Chainz, Sukihana, and Piles, among others.
“Releasing at MIDNIGHT! 34 tracks, which is also the age I… Plus 1 additional track, because tomorrow is going to be a celebration forever!”- the caption read on RHQ’s announcement post.
Among the tracks, the album includes the recently launched Song Cry, which premiered on streaming services shortly after Quan’s passing on September 17, 2024. Fans took to social media to voice their gratitude towards Quan’s estate for releasing Forever Going In, ensuring his legacy endures.
On the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), many expressed their admiration for the posthumous album announcement, with one user reflecting that Quan would have been “proud”of Forever Going In.
Reactions continued with fans sharing their affection for the body of work Quan contributed to during his career. A number of users were seen praying for his family, expressing wishes for the rapper’s soul to “rest in peace”.
“I just wish people had given him the recognition he deserved while he was alive! He consistently delivered hits! Top 3 and NOT 3,”- a fan remarked.
“I’m going to cry my eyes out when this album drops because I’ve been anticipating it ever since last year when RHQ mentioned it in vlogs and played so many snippets. I miss you, Quan; if there is a heaven, I hope you find your way there. #forevergoingin GIF”- another fan shared.
“His team will ensure his family continues to thrive!”- a user commented.
“This is surreal… #LongLiveRHQ,”- a user noted.
“There’s no way this is the last album/mixtape; Rich Homie Quan promised us he’d never stop creating!”- another fan stated.
“It’s finally being released, but it’s not him dropping it—Damn Quan,”- a fan expressed.
“Now I’m sad because he should still be here,”- another user shared.
Conversely, some individuals voiced concerns, deeming the release of Forever Going In as “disrespectful”to Quan’s legacy, suggesting that the record label was exploiting the late rapper’s death for profit.
Throughout his career, Rich Homie Quan was affiliated with T.I.G. Entertainment and Motown Records but transitioned to an independent artist, establishing his own label, “Rich Homie Entertainment,”in 2022.
“They are already capitalizing on his demise,”- one user commented.
“This is incredibly disrespectful. They never let the deceased rest in this world,”- a critic asserted.
What led to Rich Homie Quan’s passing?
Rich Homie Quan, born Dequantes Devontay Lamar, tragically passed away on September 5, 2024. His death was officially ruled an accidental overdose, with the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office confirming the presence of fentanyl, alprazolam, codeine, promethazine, and THC in his system.
On the day of his death, Quan’s brother discovered him “unresponsive”on the kitchen floor around 3:00 AM, food still in his mouth. He was moved to the living room couch, and it wasn’t until 11:00 AM that his girlfriend, Amber Williams, contacted the authorities.

Upon their arrival, authorities found that Rich Homie Quan was not breathing and his body was reportedly “cold and unresponsive.”The incident report detailed that Amber initially believed he was “just sleeping”when she discovered him.
Police confirmed that no signs of “foul play”were evident, mentioning that the rapper seemed unresponsive when they arrived. Amber added that Quan had no known “medical or underlying health issues.”
During a discussion with WBS-Atlanta, Quan’s father, Corey Lamar, spoke about his son’s untimely death and the ambitions RHQ had for his future. He also indicated there may be more music to come, mentioning that Rich had been working on an album that comprised 20 to 25 tracks.
“Quan probably had over 2,000 unreleased songs. Once he’s in a recording mood, old songs lose their significance for him. He has a vast catalog of music that fans need to experience,”- Corey Lamar expressed.
Rich Homie Quan was laid to rest on September 17, 2024, with the City Council of Atlanta declaring the day of his funeral as Rich Homie Quan Memorial Day.
The funeral allowed public attendance, as Corey Lamar stated on the Kollege Kid Podcast that it would be “a disservice”to his fans not to permit them to honor the late rapper during his memorial.
