Fans React to Jojo Siwa’s Viral Bulge Photoshoot in a Dress with Harry Styles: “It’s Not the Same Thing”

Jojo Siwa has sparked a lively discussion among users on X (formerly known as Twitter) after drawing a comparison between her provocative cover for LadyGunn and Harry Styles’ iconic 2020 Vogue cover.

The 21-year-old former Nickelodeon personality appeared on the Talk Tuah podcast, hosted by Hailey Welch, on October 11, 2024, where she elaborated on her audacious photoshoot.

In September 2024, Jojo adorned the cover of the independent publication LadyGunn, showcasing a dazzling rhinestone-studded chest piece paired with a jock strap that evoked the impression of a bulge.

“The stone bulge is all about adding a twist, embracing a gender-bending vibe, and expressing that you can truly be whoever you want to be. It was just my way of adding some excitement,” she explained.

Jojo further likened her artistic expression to Styles’ memorable Vogue shoot, where he donned a Gucci dress, commenting:

“It’s reminiscent of when Harry Styles wore a dress. Of course, showcasing a bulge is quite different from wearing a dress.”

On October 12, 2024, Pop Crave shared Jojo’s analogy on X, prompting a mixed bag of responses from users. One commenter remarked:

“Let me gently point out that this is not even close to the same thing, JoJo.”

Other individuals did not hold back in criticizing the comparison:

“There’s no reason to compare yourself to a legendary figure like @Harry_Styles,” replied one user.

“Isn’t there a substantial difference between donning a dress and sporting a stone bulge?”asked another user.

“She puts in so much effort to make a statement, and it’s honestly amusing,” noted another netizen.

“She seems to think she’s being edgy, but it really isn’t working. This is the same girl who claimed she invented gay pop,” a user remarked.

Conversely, some users expressed support for Jojo’s fashion choices, highlighting a correlation between her visuals and Styles’ 2020 cover:

“Jojo Siwa’s take on her photoshoot is invigorating! Her celebration of self-expression and gender-bending, akin to Harry Styles, promotes individuality and creativity. It’s wonderful to see her boldly showcasing her artistry,” one user commented.

“Such boldness! Continue to shine!” another user added.

“Just like Harry Styles, proving that fashion can be a canvas for identity,” observed a netizen.

“Oh girl, I get it, Jojo’s attempting to break free from societal norms!” offered a user.

Jojo Siwa Discusses Her Struggles with Photoshoots

During her appearance on the Talk Tuah podcast, Jojo Siwa revealed that photoshoots often pose significant mental challenges for her, according to reports by the Daily Mail. However, she managed to overcome these hurdles:

‘I ended up being fine, I pushed through the day – and it was absolutely worth it because the photos turned out amazing.”

The Dance Moms alum elaborated on her daring fashion statements, emphasizing that her choices serve as an inspiration for those who feel different. She expressed:

‘I aim to represent those who feel out of place – those who embrace their uniqueness and aren’t afraid to take risks… I strive to venture as far as I can into the realm of risk-taking.’

Recently, Jojo Siwa faced criticism for her remarks about Beyoncé during the Industry Dance Awards on October 8, 2024. According to Billboard’s reports on October 10, she humorously stated while accepting an award:

“I also want to thank Beyoncé, just to ensure the dancing community remains safe.”

This comment hinted at a popular theory that celebrities frequently thank Beyoncé in their acceptance speeches to maintain their success in the industry.
