Fans React to Future’s ‘Mixtape Pluto’ Debuting at No. 1 on Billboard: “3 #1 Albums in a Year is Incredible”

Recently, Future unveiled his first solo project of the year titled Mixtape Pluto. This release follows his collaboration albums with Metro Boomin, namely We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You.

The renowned Atlanta rapper’s new mixtape became available on streaming services on September 20, under an exclusive license with Epic Records and Sony Music Entertainment. Mixtape Pluto features 17 tracks, offering a total runtime of 44 minutes.

According to Luminate, Mixtape Pluto has sold nearly 130,000 album-equivalent units in the United States as of last Thursday. This impressive start led to the mixtape debuting at the top of Billboard’s 200 album chart, with Chappell Roan’s The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess and Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet landing at No.2 and No.3, respectively.

This album marks Pluto’s third No.1 album within just six months, breaking a Billboard record previously held by The Beatles in 1965. The publication also noted that since its inception in 1957, “No Act”has reached three number-one projects as quickly as Future did in 2024.

With online media outlets sharing Pluto’s achievements on social media, fans and critics flocked to X (formerly Twitter) to express their views on the mixtape’s debut atop the Billboard 200. One fan was noted for “saluting”the rapper’s remarkable feat of delivering three No.1 projects in a single year.

The applause continued with fans acknowledging Future’s new Billboard record, commending his vast discography that has secured Pluto a total of 11 No.1 albums.

“11 total number one albums is insane”- a fan stated.

Future Breaks Billboard Record with ‘Mixtape Pluto’

Future has made history as the first rapper to attain three separate No.1 albums within six months, with his latest solo effort, Mixtape Pluto, debuting at the top of Billboard’s 200 album chart.

In its first week, Mixtape Pluto sold 129,000 equivalent album units, marking the 40-year-old artist’s eleventh No.1 album. This achievement ties Pluto with notable artists such as Eminem, Ye, Bruce Springsteen, and Barbra Streisand, for the fifth most No.1 LPs on the Billboard 200.

By achieving his third No.1 album in such a brief timeframe, Pluto surpassed The Beatles, becoming the only artist to release multiple chart-topping projects within six months—a record the legendary UK band had maintained since 1965.

Pluto now ranks third among artists with the most Hot 100 hits, having charted 217 songs on the magazine’s song charts. Taylor Swift and Drake currently hold the top spots, with 264 and 338 charting records, respectively.
