Fans React to BLACKPINK’s Rosé Collaborating with Bruno Mars on ‘APT’ as It Boosts YG and YG PLUS Stock Prices
On October 21, 2024, the Korean media outlet E-Daily highlighted that the surge in popularity of APT, the latest single by BLACKPINK member Rosé, resulted in a notable increase in the stock values of both YG Entertainment and YG PLUS. YG PLUS shares surged by an impressive 25.3% compared to the previous day, while YG enjoyed a rise of 4.65% in its stock price.
Rosé’s new solo single APT was created in collaboration with renowned American pop artist Bruno Mars and was officially released on October 18.
For those who may not be aware, Rosé departed YG Entertainment in December 2023 to focus on her solo music career. Although her individual projects and collaborations fall under THEBLACKLABEL’s management, YG Entertainment still retains oversight of BLACKPINK’s collective activities. In June 2024, she formally inked a contract with THEBLACKLABEL, which is an affiliated company of YG Entertainment.
This development raised eyebrows among fans, many of whom expressed displeasure that YG Entertainment appeared to benefit from Rosé’s success despite her current lack of affiliation with the label. Online reactions included sentiments like:
“She doing charity”
Numerous fans took this opportunity to argue that YG Entertainment relies heavily on BLACKPINK for its profits.
“Up until the very last minute, it’s always BLACKPINK that saves this company. Give respect to her name!,”one fan noted.
“Even when Rosé isn’t signed under YG anymore, she is still making an impact on YG’s ventures. Charity queen,”wrote another follower.
“THEBLACKLABEL is separate from YG, but album distribution goes through YG PLUS, hence YG’s success. Just like how everything BLACKPINK does as solo artists still reflects on the group, which brings profits to the same company,”observed a fan.
One dedicated supporter highlighted the phrase “ROSÉ POWER,”while another commended her significant influence, calling her the most “underrated”member of BLACKPINK.
” Should have been towards THEBLACKLABEL but oh well… Big Rosie saving YG now,”a fan remarked.
“The underrated member of BLACKPINK did that,” exclaimed another social media user.
“See BLACKPINK power, ROSÉ POWER!!,”stated yet another fan.
