Fans React to 50 Cent Rejecting $3 Million Offer to Perform at Trump Rally: “Not All Money is Good Money”
In a recent revelation, rapper 50 Cent disclosed that he rejected a lucrative $3 million request to perform at a Trump rally. The acclaimed artist behind the hit “I Get Money”was purportedly invited to take the stage at Trump’s event in Madison Square Garden, scheduled for Sunday, October 27, but opted out due to his apprehension regarding political involvement.
During an interview on The Breakfast Club radio show aired on Tuesday, October 29, 50 Cent elaborated on his decision:
“They still offered me $3 million to perform at the RNC… I didn’t even get far in discussions. I didn’t delve into that kind of conversation. I’m cautious about politics. When you engage with it, there’s always someone who feels passionately opposed to your stance.”
The segment from this interview quickly gained traction online, sparking a flurry of reactions from users, the majority of whom applauded the rapper’s choice. One user even remarked that the offered sum from Trump did not equate to “good money.”
Another user referred to 50 Cent as a “king”for his stance.
One Instagram commentator emphasized that participating in a Trump rally was not worth compromising 50 Cent’s “integrity,”while another praised him for being “his own person.”
50 Cent Shares His Thoughts on Trump
During this podcast episode of The Breakfast Club, hosts DJ Envy and Charlamagne tha God noted that 50 Cent was also said to have been approached to perform his track “Many Men”at the Republican National Convention planned for July 2024.
50 Cent shared further insights about receiving a proposal to perform at the Trump rally on October 27 and articulated his reasoning for declining, stating:
“I steer clear of politics. Engaging with it means, regardless of your views, someone will disagree vehemently with you. It’s akin to how I avoid discussions about religion. Those topics can lead to misunderstandings, just like what happened with Kanye, who mentioned both and now tends to travel only to Japan.”
He referenced Kanye West, who had previously supported Trump and later made controversial statements that resulted in significant backlash, ultimately affecting his music career and endorsements.
In addition, 50 Cent pointed out that Kanye’s choice to relocate to Japan was influenced by his careless remarks regarding politics and religion.
Interestingly, Billboard’s report from October 29 reveals that 50 Cent once showed support for Trump in 2020 but later retracted his endorsement following criticism from his former girlfriend Chelsea Handler.
In contrast, several other rappers have expressed support for Trump. In May 2024, artists such as Sleepy Hallow (Tegan Chambers) and Sheff G (Michael Williams) joined the former president at a rally in the Bronx.
Artists including S*xyy Red, 6ix9ine, and Fivio Foreign have also voiced their backing for Trump.
Conversely, Vice President Kamala Harris has garnered support from a variety of rappers and pop stars, notably Beyonce and Eminem, who have attended her rally events. According to a Rolling Stone article dated August 24, Justin Vernon performed in Wisconsin in support of the Harris-Walz ticket, while Megan Thee Stallion headlined at Harris’ inaugural campaign rally in Atlanta.
