On October 11, 2024, BTS member Kim Seok-jin unveiled the extended version of his hit track “Super Tuna.”Initially debuted in December 2021, this latest release features a revamped music video that blends the original content with new, humorous twists.
Jin showcased the extended version for the first time on June 13, 2024, during his inaugural in-person solo fan meeting at Jamsil Arena. This event celebrated BTS’ 11th anniversary with a gathering of 4,000 dedicated fans, just a day after his military service concluded. The playful song captures the excitement of fishing for various seafood, particularly focusing on Jin’s beloved tuna.
The new music video portrays the BTS vocalist frolicking on a beach with a plush tuna in hand, adding an element of fun as he sings about his sea-fishing adventures. His lyrics combine charm, humor, and parody, reflecting on viral meme culture through delightful visuals.
After the video drop, social media erupted with creativity as fans transformed the snippet into a meme playground. One fan shared on X (previously Twitter):
“Also the high note part in the last…like the roaring part….it was so ARMY edit coded.”
Fans pointed out numerous quirky scenes, such as Jin playfully proposing to a tuna using a fishing hook hidden in a ring box while also recreating the famous “screaming cat in a cowboy hat”meme.

Jin Continues to Delight Fans with Reality Show Appearances
The original version of “Super Tuna”was released on December 4, 2021, coinciding with Jin’s birthday, and has since garnered over 135 million streams on Spotify as of October 10, 2024.
During his military service from December 2022 until June 2024, Jin also prepared for his upcoming solo music project, which is expected to debut by the end of 2024. Alongside taking on roles as a global ambassador for esteemed brands like Gucci, FRED, and LANEIGE, he has been participating in various reality shows.
Recently, he appeared as a guest on the popular MBC series “Half-star Hotel in Lost Island,”featured in episodes 15 and 16, and made a special guest appearance on the show “I Love Everyone’s Zoo”in Japan. He also completed filming for Netflix’s Korean reality offering “Kian’s Bizarre B&B.”Furthermore, he launched his own series, “RUN JIN,”on August 13, with new episodes airing weekly on BANGTANTV (YouTube).
In related news, fellow BTS member J-Hope is set to wrap up his military service on October 17, 2024. Recently, Jin humorously suggested during a Weverse Live on September 21 that he might “kidnap”J-Hope upon his release to feature him in “RUN JIN.”
