Fans Hail Joey’s Dance Performance as the “Best Bachelor” in Dancing With the Stars Episode 2

Season 33 of the beloved show Dancing With the Stars progressed to episode 2 on September 24. The episode, aptly titled Oscars Night, showcased breathtaking performances across various dance styles including Rumba, Jive, Foxtrot, Paso Doble, Quickstep, Waltz, Salsa, and Tango.

Joey Graziadei, known for his stint on The Bachelor season 28, partnered with professional dancer Jenna Johnson to deliver an impressive Rumba performance to the song Shallow from A Star is Born. After receiving valuable feedback, the judges praised Joey’s overall execution. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba gave them a high score of 8, while Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli both awarded them a score of 7, culminating in a total score of 22 for the evening.

During the episode, Jenna’s husband, Val Chmerkovskiy, taught Joey lessons in passion and sensuality. Joey expressed his challenges in finding chemistry with anyone other than his fiancé, Kelsey Anderson, which Val’s guidance helped alleviate. Fans of Dancing With the Stars took to X to shower praise on Joey’s remarkable performance.

Judges’ Feedback on Joey and Jenna’s Performance on Dancing With the Stars

Before taking the stage, Joey opened up about his challenges with intimacy when dancing with anyone besides his fiancé, Kelsey Anderson, whom he became engaged to at the conclusion of The Bachelor season 28.

The judges noted that Joey effectively overcame these hurdles with the assistance of Val Chmerkovskiy. Bruno remarked on the difficulty of performing Rumba as it traditionally centers on the woman, emphasizing that Joey successfully led and connected with Jenna. He stated:

“It’s very hard for a man to live in the Rumba because it really is dedicated to the woman. You did that! You were embracing her, connecting to her.”

Bruno suggested that Joey work on moving his hips in Figure 8 patterns instead of side to side. Derek commended Joey for filling the space beautifully but indicated room for improvement in arm placement. Carrie Ann found the overall performance mesmerizing.
