The much-awaited K-drama, Love in the Big City, has brought renewed excitement among fans, especially with the captivating photos of Nam Yoon-su featured in DAZED KOREA. This series, based on Park Sang Young’s novels, made its debut on October 21, releasing its first two episodes exclusively on TVING.

The narrative revolves around two roommates: Ko-yeong, a gay man navigating the complexities of love, and Mi-ae, a straight woman. Through Mi-ae’s eyes, we delve into Ko-yeong’s emotional journey, grappling with societal expectations and his challenging relationship with his mother. Eventually, Ko-yeong discovers a profound yet fleeting love with Gyu-ho, leading him to a transformative monsoon vacation in Thailand for self-reflection.

Recently, DAZED KOREA unveiled a series of behind-the-scenes images from the November issue, showcasing the Love in the Big City cast. The short clip shared on X featured Nam Cheol-soo, writer Park Sang-young, and more cast members, prompting fans to flock to the comments to celebrate the cast’s delightful chemistry.

On October 16, a press conference was held featuring the cast and crew of Love in the Big City to discuss the highly anticipated drama. Notable attendees included writer Park Sang-young, directors Son Tae-gyum, Hur Jin-ho, Hong Ji-young, Kim Se-in, and actors Nam Yoon-su, Kwon-hyuk, Oh Hyun-kyung, Na Hyun-woo, Jin Ho-eun, and Kim Won-joong.

Nam Yoon-su, who portrays Ko-yeong, shared that he felt no reservations in accepting the role. He was motivated by the artistic depth of the original novel and had confidence in the directors’ unique creative styles. He emphasized that each director’s distinct filming methods, styles, and use of lighting would give his character a unique portrayal in each episode.

He also praised the on-set atmosphere, likening it to hanging out with friends, and complimented the directors for their strong leadership, which made filming feel like a smooth experience. Reflecting on the series’ evolving tone, he pointed out that the first two episodes are lighthearted, while the later ones delve into deeper themes.

In addressing possible negative feedback, Nam Yoon-su mentioned that he chose to focus on the considerable amount of support he received, indicating that the numerous positive messages he encountered showed how societal views are shifting.
