Fans Express Frustration Over JYP Entertainment’s Alleged Use of AI in Stray Kids’ Upcoming Japanese Album Cover

On Tuesday, October 1, JYP Entertainment unveiled the official album cover for Stray Kids’ highly anticipated second Japanese album, GIANT. While fans expressed excitement for the new music from this popular K-pop boy group, they also voiced their dissatisfaction with the agency’s design choices for the album cover.

Shortly after the album cover was shared online, netizens began to raise concerns that its design may have been generated using Artificial Intelligence. Various users pointed out flaws in the album cover, including indistinct and patchy areas, along with generic visuals, suggesting AI may have played a role in its creation.

Here are some fan reactions regarding the cover of Stray Kids’ upcoming Japanese album:

“I don’t want to be that person, but this looks like it’s AI-generated. I hope it’s not, but something about the details and the blurry parts — it’s giving AI vibes, which, if true, is quite frustrating.”

“As a designer, it pains me to see them using generative AI… like, why??? There are so many talented designers out there who could have done an amazing job, but it seems they opted for this to save costs…”a fan remarked on X.

“Ugly AND AI-created? Bro, pick a struggle (don’t, please just pay actual artists and you won’t face these issues, I promise) added another fan.

Many other netizens also shared their feelings about the album cover, critiquing JYP Entertainment’s alleged reliance on AI.

“We should all be furious about generative AI infiltrating creative industries. We cannot allow Stray Kids’ team to keep using AI for their ALBUM COVERS!”commented a user on X.

“I’m excited about new music, but it’s disappointing to see this AI-generated content; it looks terrible.”said a netizen on X.

“Why does it look like Bigfoot? Come on, JYP, you can do better than this AI mess..”added another user on X.
