Why Were Fans Left Disappointed?

“Looking ahead, we are creating a new animated film based on the world of Super Mario Bros., set for theatrical release in April 2026. Additionally, we are planning and developing a live-action film of The Legend of Zelda.“

While this does confirm that work on the adaptation is in progress, it does little to satiate the cravings of dedicated fans, many of whom were eagerly awaiting updates after the film’s initial announcement a year ago.
