“Fans Express Disappointment Over No Chair Turns for Dahlia on The Voice”

The latest episode of The Voice season 26 debuted on October 14, 2024, on NBC, showcasing the fifth round of Blind Auditions. Out of thirteen contestants that took to the stage, eleven were selected by coaches Reba, Gwen Stefani, Michael Bublé, and Snoop Dog.

Dahlia, a 28-year-old singer from Minneapolis, delivered a soulful rendition of Amy Winehouse’s “You Know I’m No Good.”Despite her strong performance, she was one of two contestants who did not elicit any chair turns from the judges. Another artist, 21-year-old Drake Hyde, also failed to gain traction with the coaches.

Viewers of The Voice took to Twitter to voice their disappointment over the coaches’ decision not to turn for Dahlia. Many praised her vocal abilities and song choice, encouraging her return in the next season. Some fans questioned the coaches’ judgment, wondering why they overlooked her talent.

“Dahlia needs to make a comeback… shocked no one turned for her,”commented one supporter.

“I’m really upset that nobody turned for Dahlia. She deserves another shot next season,”voiced another fan.

“Exactly! I understand the coaches have to be selective, but seriously!! Dahlia should have advanced!”added a different viewer.

“Dahlia Jones had such a strong presence from the start. Loved her song choice. She really worked the rhythm and brought out her vocals with a nice graininess in her midrange, and she sounded brighter in her higher notes. But… #TheVoice #VoiceBlinds Snoop said ‘too good’. Why not turn?”reflected another fan.

While some fans celebrated Dahlia’s performance, others criticized the coaches for their decisions. Many viewers felt her rendition was superior to that of other participants who received positive turns.

“Camryn got four chair turns… Dahlia absolutely should have too!!!”one fan remarked.

“I completely agree; I thought Dahlia outperformed many others,”a viewer responded.

“YES, the judges got this one completely wrong regarding Dahlia,”someone else expressed.

As the Blind Auditions reached their fifth installment, the coaches faced the challenge of filling their teams, leading them to be more selective as they anticipated the final auditions in episode six.

Dahlia’s moment on The Voice season 26 came during a fiercely competitive stage of the show. She was introduced as a dedicated mother to a four-year-old daughter, sharing that their current separation marked the longest they had ever been apart. Dahlia also revealed that her career involves encouraging children to treat one another with kindness.

After her performance of “You Know I’m No Good,”Gwen Stefani acknowledged that the teams were nearing capacity, which influenced her decision not to turn. However, she praised Dahlia’s talent, referring to her as an “amazing”singer.

Michael, who had personal ties to Amy Winehouse, admitted he struggled to avoid direct comparisons to the late legend, causing him to refrain from turning his chair. This heartfelt moment brought Dahlia to tears, but he encouraged her perseverance.

Snoop comforted Dahlia by affirming, “You are definitely talented,”while Reba urged her to remain positive and suggested that she give it another try.

The upcoming episode of The Voice season 26, titled The Blind Auditions, Part 6, is scheduled to air on October 15 at 8 PM ET on NBC.
