Fans Criticize BIGHIT MUSIC for Promoting Controversial BTS Article by Biased Reporter

According to online users, Lee Seon-myeong from Sports KyungHyang has allegedly disseminated malicious rumors about BTS through his articles, leading fans to accuse him of biased journalism against the band. Fans reported these concerns to BIGHIT MUSIC, but it appears there has been no significant action taken by the agency.

Frustration among fans grew following the agency’s recent post on X, prompting many to feel that BIGHIT MUSIC and its parent company, HYBE LABELS, are not adequately addressing the reports made by the fandom regarding the journalist’s conduct. Fans continued to express their disappointment in BIGHIT MUSIC for seemingly ignoring their appeals regarding the journalist.

BIGHIT MUSIC Updates on Legal Actions Against Anti-Fans Spreading Malicious Rumors About BTS

On September 30, BIGHIT MUSIC released a statement on Weverse, providing fans with updates on the ongoing legal actions against misinformation and defamatory posts targeting BTS online. The agency indicated that they have compiled evidence submitted by fans from various online platforms, including Instiz, FMKorea, and others.

They have also identified accounts from NAVER, Nate Pann, FMKorea, and more who made malicious posts and have faced legal consequences. Additionally, BIGHIT MUSIC updated fans about their lawsuit against YouTuber Sojang (who ran Taldeok Camp) over defamation charges, for which the initial trial has commenced. They are actively coordinating with investigative agencies to ensure proper punishment for perpetrators.

The agency stated:

“We will continue to collect evidence, report, and pursue legal actions against malicious posts targeting BTS members, who are currently fulfilling their mandatory military service. Our legal endeavors will persist throughout this timeframe, and we will take stringent measures against offenders without any leniency or settlements.”
