K-pop group MONSTA X is currently on a brief hiatus due to members’ ongoing military enlistments
MONSTA X made their debut with their EP Trespass on May 14, 2015, originally consisting of seven members: Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, and I.M. The group was formed through the reality talent show No.Mercy under Starship Entertainment. However, in October 2019, member Wonho left the group after terminating his contract.
Their 4th-generation boy band recently headlined the We Bridge Music Festival & Expo on April 21, 2023, held at the Michelob Ultra Arena at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Minhyuk began his required military service as an active-duty soldier on April 4, 2023, which prevented him from joining the event.
While Minhyuk was away, Shownu was discharged on the same day of the festival, April 21, 2023. Subsequently, Joohoney enlisted on July 24, 2023, followed by Kihyun in August and Hyungwon in November 2023.
