50 Cent Congratulates Trump on Presidential Victory
In a recent Instagram update, rapper 50 Cent shared his heartfelt congratulations to Donald Trump following Trump’s victory in the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election. Securing over 270 electoral votes, Trump is set to become the 47th president of the United States, as reported by The Associated Press.
A Moment Captured on Social Media
On November 6, 2024, 50 Cent, also known as Curtis James Jackson III, posted two photos where he appeared to be shaking hands with Trump, alongside a selfie of the two together. In the candid post, 50 Cent expressed his sentiments with a somewhat cryptic caption:
“I don’t care how the fight goes. I’m leaving the winner sh*t. I still don’t know what’s going on congrats!”
This social media activity follows 50 Cent’s appearance on The Breakfast Club on October 29, where he claimed he was being offered approximately $3 million to perform at a Trump rally in Madison Square Garden. However, a representative from Trump’s campaign denied these assertions, according to Variety.
Fans’ Reactions and Criticism
50 Cent’s post elicited a mixed response from his followers, many of whom voiced their disappointment regarding his support for Trump. A notable comment read:
“You’re making a documentary exposing Diddy while voting for White Diddy?”
This comment referenced a Netflix documentary on Diddy, produced by 50 Cent’s G-Unit Film & Television Division, which was confirmed in September, though its release date remains unannounced. Other fans questioned the post’s intent, with some even proclaiming they would no longer watch his hit show, Power.
50 Cent Explains His Reluctance to Perform
Despite the attention surrounding his social media post, 50 Cent previously declined an invitation to perform at Trump’s rally, as well as another at the Republican National Convention for the song “Many Men.”When discussing his reasons for steering clear of political events, 50 Cent explained during his interview:
“I’m afraid of politics, so you understand? I do not like any part of politics. It’s because when you do get involved in politics, no matter how you feel, someone passionately disagrees with you. That’s the formula for the confusion that sent Kanye to Japan.”
As the hosts lightheartedly suggested he might talk to Kamala Harris, 50 Cent humorously distanced himself from political discussions, saying:
“Why you guys put me into this stuff? I thought we was cool? What you doing man?”
This is not the first time 50 Cent has shown support for Trump; back in October 2020, he urged his followers to vote for Trump, contrasting proposed tax rates under Joe Biden’s plans.
While 50 Cent’s recent post sparked considerable debate among his fans, he has yet to respond to the critical feedback.
