The highly anticipated thriller drama Family Plan, featuring an impressive cast including Bae Doona, Park Solomon (Lomon), and Ryu Seung-bum, is set to premiere on November 29, 2024. This gripping series follows a group of individuals with extraordinary abilities who come together and pose as a family to shield themselves from lethal criminals who present significant threats.

Family Plan, produced by Coupang Play, is a creative effort from screenwriter Kim Jung Min – celebrated for her work on Hush and Suits – alongside the talented twin directors Kim Gok and Kim Sun, recognized for their direction in On the Line and Land Mine.

Filming for Family Plan commenced in December 2023, anticipating its audience on November 29, 2024.

In this thrilling narrative, a unique group of individuals, each endowed with special powers, assume the role of a family for mutual protection against malicious criminals. Han Young-soo, portrayed as a nurturing mother with distinct abilities, showcases her warmth, while her husband, Baek Cheol-hee, though timid and skillfully concealing his own power, exhibits profound affection for his wife.

The grandfather, Baek Gang-sung, comes off as gruff but is fiercely protective of his family. Their teenage children, Baek Ji-hoon and Baek Ji-woo, both 17, display contrasting traits; Ji-hoon is caring and gentle, while Ji-woo tends to be sensitive and meticulous.

A recent script reading event for Family Plan unveiled the full cast, with Bae Doona taking on the role of Han Young-soo, noted for her affectionate nature towards her children. She expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating:

“I’ve been waiting for a long time because the script was so much fun.”

Lomon steps into the shoes of the gentle son Baek Ji-hoon, feeling honored to collaborate with seasoned actors. Lee Su-hyun’s role as Baek Ji-woo captures the essence of a prickly daughter, mingling excitement and nervousness about her interactions with the esteemed cast.

Ryu Seung-bum embodies Baek Chul-hee, the rather shy husband with hidden abilities yet deeply devoted to his family. He articulated his dedication to the series, saying,

“I’m determined to do my best to ensure the success of this project.”

Baek Yoon-shik features as Baek Gang-sung, the no-nonsense grandfather who treasures his family, also sharing his experience and urging viewers to keep engaged with the drama.

Bae Doona, acclaimed both in South Korea and internationally, is an actress and photographer recognized for her versatility. Her noteworthy performances include roles as a political activist in Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, an archer in The Host, and a doll in Air Doll.

Doona has also left her mark in English-language films, featured in the Wachowski’s Cloud Atlas and Jupiter Ascending, along with her role in Netflix’s Sense8 and Rebel Moon. In the realm of Korean television, she is celebrated for leading roles in thrilling series like Stranger, the period zombie hit Kingdom, and the sci-fi adventure The Silent Sea.

Park Solomon, popularly known as Lomon, is a South Korean actor with roots in Uzbekistan, having made his debut in 2014. He gained prominence through leading roles in titles such as Sweet Revenge, All of Us Are Dead, Revenge of Others, and Branding in Seongsu.
