Exciting Developments for Fallout: New Vegas Fans
Obsidian Entertainment’s renowned RPG, Fallout: New Vegas, is set to welcome a surge of new players thanks to the upcoming second season of the highly acclaimed Fallout television series. Premiering on Amazon Prime Video on December 17, the new season transports viewers to New Vegas, where the story follows the nefarious ex-overseer of Vault 33, Hank MacLean. Since the series is set 15 years after the events of Fallout: New Vegas, it’s an excellent opportunity for newcomers to experience the game before diving into the show.
New Mods Enhance the Gaming Experience
To further entice players, a remarkable graphics mod titled Perfect Skies has just been released. Developed by doodlum, a key creator behind the acclaimed The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Community Shaders, this mod is touted as ‘the ultimate clouds mod.’ Unlike the default game and earlier mods that relied on real-world images for cloud textures, Perfect Skies employs advanced computer-generated clouds. This innovation effectively eliminates issues such as pixelation and visual artifacts, resulting in a more immersive experience.
Additionally, doodlum has introduced a proprietary cloud baking system, which he claims surpasses the technology used in Fallout 4. With 30 unique cloud variations and 60 vibrant 4K textures, this mod packs nearly 1GB of stunning cloud visuals, yet it is neatly compressed to a manageable 220MB file size.
New Quest Mod to Explore
In addition to the graphical enhancements, players can anticipate the launch of a quest mod named Fallout: Long 15, which will take them into the territories of the New California Republic (NCR) via Interstate 15. This expansive mod, which follows the developers’ earlier release Dry Wells, promises a rich new world, brimming with quests, factions, and towns to discover. The modding team aims to unveil Long 15 on December 12, accompanied by a new story trailer set to drop between late November and early December.
