Fallout: London Mod for Fallout 4 Surpasses 1 Million Downloads on GOG

This July saw the launch of the ambitious total conversion mod known as Fallout: London, which transported players to a brand-new environment within the Fallout universe. This entirely community-developed mod is available at no cost, requiring only the Fallout 4: Game of the Year edition to immerse oneself in the new storyline.

Just three months post-launch, Fallout: London has achieved an impressive milestone, accumulating over a million downloads on the GOG platform, its primary source for distribution.

The GOG store expressed their enthusiasm in a statement: “We chose to support this creative and daring fan project, not only out of our passion for gaming but also to help keep the rich, immersive worlds of games like Fallout vibrant. By making Fallout: London easily accessible and ensuring a smooth installation process with cross-platform compatibility, we aim to preserve gaming history.”

The mod, developed over five years by Team FOLON—comprising a mix of hobbyists, industry experts, and modders—offers expansion-level content, promising around 90 hours of gameplay. Players can expect a brand-new map to navigate, numerous side quests to undertake, fully voiced characters, new factions to engage with, and a wealth of loot scattered throughout.

Although Fallout: London can be downloaded from the GOG store, it is also compatible with the Steam edition of Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition. However, installation via Steam is significantly more intricate compared to the straightforward process on GOG.

Development is ongoing for the mod, with major updates in the pipeline. The recent update, Patch 1.02, was released earlier this week, featuring more than 1,000 changes aimed at stabilizing the mod and addressing community feedback.

In celebration of Fallout Day, which marks the onset of the Great War in the Fallout lore, the GOG store is currently hosting discounts on every title within the Bethesda franchise. One highlight is a 75% discount on the Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition, now available for just $9.99, the only requirement to begin your journey in Fallout: London.
