Fact Check: Millie Bobby Brown Arrested at Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet Tour in Atlanta? Viral Tweet Clarified
A recent tweet creating buzz on X claimed that Millie Bobby Brown, the star of Stranger Things, was arrested during Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Short n’ Sweet Tour’ concert. Brown attended Carpenter’s performance in Atlanta on October 22, 2024.
This tweet, shared by the account @ShortnSweetTour, generated over 1.3 million views and 86,000 likes as of the publication of this article.
The wording of the post led to a wave of confusion, with numerous fans speculating about Brown’s interaction with the police at the event. However, the “arrest”is merely part of a comedic routine that Carpenter performs at her shows, where she jokingly “arrests”a concert attendee for being “too attractive.”
During the Atlanta event at the State Farm Arena, Brown became the focus of this playful prank. Carpenter referred to Brown as “this gorgeous girl,” expressing her admiration. The singer also pretended to recognize Millie, which elicited a delighted scream from her.
“Millie, I’ve never fallen in love at a concert before, but stranger things have happened. It’s unfortunate we have to arrest you because you’re so beautiful. That sucks,”Carpenter remarked.
Carpenter added a light-hearted twist to the event by performing a quick costume change on stage, switching to a shorter skirt and joking that her clothing was “embarrassed”upon seeing Brown. When Millie playfully requested to be arrested, Carpenter handed her a pair of handcuffs.
Sabrina Carpenter’s Upcoming Performance in Orlando
The talented singer will be taking the stage next at the Kia Center in Orlando on October 24. After launching her ‘Short n’ Sweet Tour’ in September, Carpenter is set to conclude the North American leg at Kia Forum on November 18.
In March 2025, the tour will expand internationally, traveling to the UK and Europe. The lineup will feature 19 songs, predominantly from her sixth album, Short n’ Sweet, along with select tracks from previous works.
Recently, Carpenter was included in TIME Magazine’s “TIME100 Next”list, where she discussed her past albums, her journey with femininity, and her stage outfits.
She mentioned facing criticism regarding her concert attire but emphasized that her fashion choices are essential for her comfort while performing before large audiences:
“You’ll still get the occasional mother that has a strong opinion on how you should be dressing. And to that, I just say, don’t come to the show, and that’s OK. It’s unfortunate that it’s even a point of criticism because, honestly, stepping onto a stage in front of so many people is terrifying and you have to perform as if it’s effortless.”
She further elaborated:
“If the one thing that helps you do that is the way you feel comfortable dressing, then that’s what you’ve got to do.”
In other news, Millie Bobby Brown is currently in Atlanta filming the fifth season of Stranger Things. This final season of the acclaimed Netflix series is slated for release in 2025, featuring the addition of Linda Hamilton, known for her role in Terminator, although details about her character remain undisclosed.
